    Here in the USA, a petroleum discharge into a navigable waterway is worth $25,000 per day per occurrence in fines from the Coast Guard.

    That could/would be a very expensive fill-up.

    i saw this happen once at a fuel dock
    dude discovered his mishap when the bilge pump kicked on and started discharging diesel overboard
    massive cluster**** ensued
    as the fuel pumps to a small fleet of sportfishing boats were shut down
    we were lucky enough to be already fueling and were allowed to finish but a line of dozens other boats were turned away
    Simpler is better, except when complicated looks really cool.

    Once saw an apprentice mechanic fill the boot of a large English car through a missing reflector under it's tail light... petrol, not diesel.
    Bald, ugly, not too bright but incredibly sexy in an unattractive sort of way....
