We had -20°F this morning, but th wind is down. One toilet won't fill, but I expect that to fix itself tomorrow.
Biggest problem is the clutch is very slow to return in the truck. Does hydraulic fluid get thick?
Hope all of you are safe and warm.

Yes it does. I spent a winter in Warroad, MN when I was a trainee. I was living in the station bunkroom so had to move all the vehicles in the parking lot when the snowplow came around 0400. I couldn't start the std trans vehicles unless I pushed the clutch pedal to the floor, even in neutral. The station rule about temps was that you were in the woods if the temp was above -30 F. If you were smart you brought your battery inside whenever you could. I haven't been back since.
We too had -20F. The wind made it really nasty - 20+MPH with 35+ gusts. The shop door blew open night before last, so when I went up yesterday morning it was cold!
Hydraulic clutches can get hard/slow to return when really cold. Running the truck for a bit may get it warm enough to work better.

There are two kinds of boaters: those who have run aground, and those who lie about it.
It was -8F when nine Kedgers gathered at the Sea Street Cafe and the temperature began rising to a now balmy 15F. Forecast to get into the forties by tomorrow morning.
My apartment is a bit drafty so in temperatures like this it's now warm but with proper clothing all's good.
It's really hard on the homeless who eschew shelter and there may well be fatalities in the camps.
-20 here in my part of Vermont. Some ski areas didn't even bother to open. Others opened but at deduced hours and limited ski lifts running.
Saturday is dump day around here. I didn't even bother going because I figured the hydraulics on the compactors wouldn't be working because of the cold.
I was born on a wooden boat that I built myself.
Skiing is the next best thing to having wings.
I'll admit I delayed my dump/recycling run...

We had -35°F the other night. After a week of subzero temps and light snow, it cleared off and got really cold.
The greenhouse looks pretty grim from outside. . .
But the tomatoes survived and there are salad greens in the center bed.
Toughest part is getting out in the morning to walk the doggo.

I opened my garage door this morning to take my dog outside for a walk and found this… a frozen Goldfinch. It must have been unwell and seeking warmth.

We had about -18C,so 0F.
It's supposed to be above 0C tomorrow
The wind had been howling since sometime Thursday, making the viz pretty miserable.

Low nineties here. Had planned to keep working on the boat but it's just a bit too hot to be kneeling with my back in the sunshine and sanding fibreglass. It can wait. Hopefully by the time it cools down I'll have thought of another excuse for not sanding fibreglass![]()
I was telling one of the guys at work just last week about your Wyoming mid-winter tomatoes!
34.6C (90 something F) here yesterday. Naturally our firewood was delivered - made for a very hot, sweaty couple of hours getting it stacked away. We're all set now for when it cools down a little.

The Ignore feature, lowering blood pressure since 1862. Ahhhhhhh.

Should be up in the thirties tomorrow.

I awoke at dawn (-13 degrees, 30-40 knot gusts) to find a group of about eight pigeons in lee of our garage right up against the wall at ground level all fluffed up. They usually perch on the roof and go chasing one another most of the time.
Meanwhile the Steller's Sea Eagle has returned to the same spots around here from way up in Newfoundland like it did last winter around this time.

Finally hit freezing, over 50° F warmer than yesterday morning.
Time to get your groove on.
Without friends none of this is possible.
