I think I will used the 28mm lens for landscape and architectural work. The 50 mm might be too much ( although it does look cool ) but I'm fine with just moving myself closer.

So I've taken about 20 shots with it in various setting ( completely daunting ) and NONE of them look 1/10th as good as the iPhone photo of the actual camera I posted.

I'm beginning to have buyers remorse already

Fuji seems to have an Iphone app to import the images to your phone, but it seems to have very bad reviews. If it will work, maybe the phone could edit the images.

You might have to run the photos through photoshop. The iPhone might have post-processing that you have relied upon? I don't know, just a thought.

I don't the first one looks muddy and the focal point is way too narrow you can't even read the word coffee at the bottom red band. It doesn't POP Look at the wood grain in the iPhone photo.

Use smaller aperture and longer shutter speed. Might require a tripod since I don't think you have image stabilization or increase ISO.

I can't tell you how disappointed I am with my inability to operate this camera . I just realized I'm not the artist I thought I was it's all been iPhone magic that I made me look good. None of the Fuji X100V photos look good and I'm depressed.

I've read the manual and settings, tomorrow my friend who has the exact same camera and we will set it up and teach me the basics.

Circled below is the sighthole. There is one on either side of the camera, right and left sightholes. Look through it, and press the button on the top of the camera.

Easypeasy.

You need to know which is your dominant eye, for right eyed shooters the circled hole best suits landscape and the one at the other end, portrait shots.

Did you try it on auto mode? It's the setting designed for iPhone users.

Just kidding, but seriously I often shoot in auto mode and it is usually right on the money. Also have you figured out the auto focus? It usually requires holding the shutter half way down until it focuses before completing the shot. I only ask because the focus is poor.

You'll figure it out, really only two things to mess with, shutter speed to control the amount of exposure and aperture to adjust depth of field. Figure out which wheel and button combos control those and you are off and running. There is more, but that is the meat of it.

This camera takes the WORST photos !!!!

Yes I have it on auto everything, I'll play with a stop up or down to brighten or darken but thats it everything else is n auto, and it SUCKS. I have a 30 day return policy if I don't see any improvement in my images back it goes and we will never talk of this again. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement.

After hours of YouTube tutorials and reading 119 pages of the 323 page manual I still can't take a decent photo. The damn thing doesn't even do a F'n selfe !!!

Ya wanna take a good selfe - go buy an iPhone . You want to take exceptional photos in a 1/10000 of a second get and iPhone. If this damn Fuji wasn't so damn beautiful I would have chucked it already.

Sorry I'm just frustrated. I went to bed frustrated, and I woke up frustrated.

I might just have to come to terms that I'm not a "real" photographer and just an iPhone snapshot dude.

In the right hands*, IMO the Fuji can take wonderful photos. But I never dove in - really pursued those capabilities. I can take 'decent' shots, but - I'm certainly not consistently good with it. Suspect there's more than a few here that can really utilize the capabilities.
