Great project! I loved seeing L.W. Batter’s build back in the day.

Seems a perfect boat for your waters.

Decks are glassed and more or less filled. Might do some fairing. Up next is outwhale and toe rails.

Looking good! A lot of work went into making the decks look that simple.

Your boat build is going to be fun to watch come together.
I like everything about this one pictured; the cabin, and the rails surrounding the cockpit look great and functional.
Ready to hear the performance reports when you get that far.

looking mighty well founded, of course.

i was prompted to check in on billy's video of storm crow at port townsend in '08. still up, and complete with the music. billy must have paid for the right to use the tune.

good fun to be had when we are both ready, tim.

There's an aluminum one here built by a guy whose day job is at the Bath Iron Works building naval vessels. It's named TIN CAN which is a play on the fact that BIW built numerous destroyers during WWII. TIN CAN is about as well executed in aluminum as you'd ever want to see in a small, curvaceous boat.

Spaulding Dunbar designed a similar high bow, vee bottom , double ended hull for the shallow, shifting sandbar waters at the elbow of Cape Cod. His had two water jet engines so the boat could run WOT in eight inches of water so as to take short cuts to the best fishing.21o1s7t.jpg
For the most part experience is making the same mistakes over and over again, only with greater confidence.

“Ed” looks fantastic Tim! If I come help sand and paint can I have a ride when you launch? I’ve always wanted to experience a Bartender…

I missed this thread, good to see things coming along. And high quality video of wooden boats is always a treat. Most of the Bartender videos on Youtube are.. a bit difficult to view these days. I actually have a bit of drone footage of my boat up on plane, I'll have to see if I can dig it out.

Found a bit from a few years ago. Excuse the poor flying, but it does give a good view of the boat coming up onto plane.

Those Bartenders have a way of making me think about creating my own "Curve of Time" adventures. You've got a nice start on an adventure boat there Tim, looking forward to watching you get kitted out.
