lovely shot, jack. how was the wine? looks like mimosa hour.
Actually espresso hour. Photo taken across the 1-lane road from my mom’s place, at 6:17 AM my phone says. I walked down to get the paper. The vineyard in the photo was apples until a few years ago. We still have apples (originally planted by my grandfather in 1912) but now have Pinot grapes on 3 sides.
oh wow, quite a setting. is this a place you might inherit/move to?
you still get a newspaper delivered, that is also notable.
Thaks Lee, it is a beautiful spot and technically belongs to my sisters and me. Unfortunately with property values and all, none of us can afford to buy out the others and also fix up the old house. It’s agricultural zoning so can’t be subdivided. Also Sonoma County is getting overrun with wealthy urbanites and I can’t find a quiet place for a day hike that isn’t crowded with fashionable hikers getting out of their shiny Audis and Range Rovers. If I move it will likely be Oregon, southern Willamette Valley or maybe Grants Pass area.

Stormy here.
A society predicated on the assumption that everyone in it should want to get rich is not well situated to become either ethical or imaginative.

Deere just took a ride over to the Mai Sariang area, near the border with Burma to check out a few tour ideas. Judging by this photo he sent me, he took a bit of a look in Burma too.

He's a good one for seeking out the cheap accommodation. The kitchen left a bit to be desired

Without friends none of this is possible.

hi ted!
the parapet built around the peaked and tiled roof? what am i missing?
Good Morning.
It is a design feature - modern mid century with high insulated ceilings... Should be similar to this home.

I am really stoked on this house. I was worried that i chose a less desirable lot. Lot of views to see.

nice view indeed. i am gobsmacked that the parapets on those houses are purely aesthetic. that one on your place looks like trouble for roofing purposes. can't believe it is going to finish like that.
meanwhile, a broken bit of knotter last evening, trying to bale up the neighbor's. so muck for "making a bit of money". this knotter is not original to my 60 y.o. baler. tell me that isn't pot metal.

The one from Jim looks like a Great Blue Heron. It is much larger than the White Faced. White faced are the same genus as our Little Blue herons and Snowy egrets.
