That one cattle egret was standing on the cow's back and flew just as I took the photo.

Might have a litter in the twine box. That NH baler is slightly newer than me.

the 270 was made from '61 to '63. practically new! i did pull a half dozen aromatic eggs out of there. shouldn't be any kittens, per payment to the vet...

jimmy, i have thought to do a cows and birds thread, but my cell camera is not up to it. always birds with the cows. they like the bugs that the cows stir up. and also, who doesn't like hanging out with cows?

Testing my (pretty good if I say so myself) memory here.... 13 years ago in another couple of months. Shot at 400mm on a Nikon D100. No cropping. Memory not good enough, these days, to recall ISO setting or exposure.

edited to add - ISO 200 at f5.6. Yes, shot at 400mm which is 600mm 35mm equivalent on that camera.

We got Cow birds round here. How they make a living where dairy cows are not pastured.

Lee, your 270 had bright shiny paint when I first hoisted bales from the chute. Bringing back memories.

My father had what was probably a Massey-Harris like this baler when I was a teen. We pulled it with an Case tractor. Both the baler and the tractor were old then in the 1960s. I remember baling and stacking a huge pile of hay that was soybean stubble left after farmers around here harvested their soy beans. He sold the bales for 50’ each. The baler was powered by an Wisconsin engine. I remember pulling that thing on a windy day and getting covered with ground up soy bean stubble. One of the happiest days of my life was when my father sold that hay baler. There is still a part roll of baling wire here 50+ years later.

Wow! I base my initial opinion of a person on their smile. Your mom's a winner & her light does indeed shine bright.

Looks like a old school film camera best to walk on by…
I remember taking my F3 kit in for a service when digital first surfaced in the shop , speaking to the salesman I ask the question about their future he replied “ gonna be a bit of a fad not durable nor reliable.”

This is Louie the beautifully, crazy charismatic Frenchman, sailor, artist raconteur that I had the pleasure of sailing San Francisco Masters Mariner race with.

The stories he shared in his impenetrable French accent aboard his stunning 1920's sailboat Vectis had all of us wheezing with laughter. I think Paul might have pulled something.

I must have shot 300 frames with my "REAL" camera and hours of video most of them are in this thread. Yet the BEST photo in my opinion was this photo taken in the moment with once again my iPhone.

    IMG_6809.jpg

This photo of Louie's hands on the tiller of Vectis is pretty good and was taken with the "REAL" Fuji X100 V in Velvia simulation.
