Another Tesla question
Tesla made its bones as a status symbol for Silicon valley. Now all the people I know who have bought one around here (about eight) have been women. Is Tesla a "chick's car"?Tags: None -
Re: Another Tesla question
Largely true around here. Though I have one male friend who owns two. Don't know about elsewhere.David G

There is no way our first electric car will be a Tesla. Absolutely no chance.Comment

Re: Another Tesla question
I’ve seen quite a few of the Mach-E’s around recently. They actually seem pretty nice. My wife is a VW/Audi girl, but we may consider alternatives when the time comes. Right now it would need to be a plug in hybrid though, not full electric.Comment

Baker Electric Car and the Baker Motor Vehicle Company 1899-1914
Baker Motor Vehicle Company was a manufacturer of Brass Era electric automobiles in Cleveland, Ohio from 1899 to 1914. The first Baker vehicle was a two seater with a selling price of US$ 850. One was sold to Thomas Edison as his first car. Edison also designed the nickel-iron batteries used in some Baker electrics. These batteries have extremely long lives, and some are still in use.

Im sure part of that reported range derives from the lack of amenities and safety equipment ( weight) compared to a modern car.
