Default Victor Bout released from American prison

I predict that within a month Victor will “accidentally” fall out of a window. He knows too much about Putin.

    If so will anyone weep?

No, after all these years he had nothing to tell us. Putin could have left him here. He wants Bout back out of loyalty and to serve him again.

No back atcha. Putin was looking for a way to dump Griner without losing face.
He drops her and gets Bout. Bout has been out of the Russki shuffle for 11 years. Those who’ve moved to the upper echelons won’t embrace a usuper.

The legendary KGB commitment to always getting their man back.

The real and original « Merchant of Death » was a far grander figure; he was Sir Basil Zaharoff, the founder of Vickers.

My paternal grandfather left Reuters to go and work for him; in the eyes of my American grandmother this was unspeakable behaviour and she left him.

I hope Griner appreciates the future damage her insouciance may cause.

He did not found Vickers, but was a very effective salesman for the firm. Playing off Brazil, Argentina and either Chile or Peru against each other being one ploy. Visiting them in turn with tales of the new, powerful battleship that was on order by their rivals.
It really is quite difficult to build an ugly wooden boat.
