Don’t expect much, and you won’t be disappointed…
Conceived, but not misconcieved. Thank God.
If I use the word "God," I sure don't mean an old man in the sky who just loves the occasional goat sacrifice. - Anne Lamott

American public action is "dastardly" hard to move so a few thousand paid the price that day.
I have a distant cousin in an aft compartment on the Arizona, but we still watched "1941" last night just for perspective.
My dads battleship was supposed to be at Pearl, but got 'bumped', another docked instead. Rather seriously influenced my course.
There's a lot of things they didn't tell me when I signed on with this outfit....

Very close, although I don't believe FDR had real knowledge of the attack and the mood of the people was not seen as ready for war. I'm sure he welcomed it but the naval sacrifice was higher than he wished. Those of us who watched war materiel being freighted on extremely long trains toward shipping ports for England knew war was coming and inevitable.
Japan had to react to our restriction of their basic supplies and they did react in the only meaningful way open to them. As I watched a large number of B25's gather and fly at a local Columbia, SC airbase, I knew we were making plans for something but not what it might be.
A visit to the Arizona memorial was far more powerful than I imagined it might be.
I Catholic Ireland where holding hands before marriage was banned, I was miraculously born six months after my parents married.
Nobody blinked.
It's all fun and games until Darth Vader comes.
One of my Aunt's was born on 7th Dec 1941.
Her name is Pearl.
Just an amateur bodging away..
Well, I'm still wondering what Pearl Harbour has to do with a conception in 1956 or 7?
