It’s insanity to suggest that the presence of a gun makes you safer. Even with trained professionals, adding a gun to any given situation makes that situation less safe.

Does not sound like an accidental shooting to me. He aimed and he pulled the trigger. I thought the first rule is not to point the gun at anything you do not intend to kill. Hmmm. . . sounds like intent as well.

I vaguely remember being 23, immersed in building scenery and running shows we did a lot of stupid stuff, but point guns at each other, much less pull the trigger? Not so much. Whoever does the hiring for that department needs to do a better job screening out the idiots.

As someone who was narrowly missed (a matter of inches ) when being relieved by a sleep-deprived watchstander ( M1911A1 - slapped in a full magazine before he released the slide ) , I understand how it 'could' happen, but TWO trigger pulls without clearing the weapon ? Too much inexcusable stuff documented here . .

Yep. I don't have a ton of experience, but I've never seen a Glock misfire like that. I'm guessing that what's missing from the affidavit is that the first time he pulled the trigger the chamber was empty, so, 'click.' Then he racked the slide either a) not knowing there was a loaded mag in the gun and wanting another click or b) knowing there was a loaded mag in the gun and wanting to kill his 'friend.'

It would, and does - 'compounding the felony' was the watchstander using the trigger to drop the hammer down - which will fire a chambered cartridge, every single time
