I think it is handsome. A whole hell of a lot better than their absurd fugly Cybertruck pickup design.

However, I read a while back that they tried to get cute and the driver's seat is centered in the cab, which is dumb as you can't easily get to the window for tolls, etc.

Toll booths how 19th century By the time it actually hits the market no one will be reaching out to pay a toll by hand, it will all be auto billed based on taking photos of your license plate. Here in SoCal I have 6 Vehicles the drive on all the toll roads daily and have yet to see a toll booth in 6.5 years.

suspension is nice when going faster than 20mph but that thing just needs foot pegs as the saddle to pedal height aint right.

i expect in the next decade or two the majority of short haul trucks / ferries / flights will be electric and the long haul of the same as well as big ships and trains will be hydrogen powered with hydrogen produced by wind. The is perhaps some hope for our grandchildren. I recently looked up know world oil reserves and current world consumption. It works out to 47 years if we suck every drop out of the ground.

I watched the video. My take is that Tesla (airquotes) SAYS (/airquotes) it has 500 miles. I'll hold my praise till Jason Torchinsky at Autopian.com gets in one with an experienced CDL driver and heads up I-5.

Don’t worry, we’ll get those drops but it’ll be stretched out over a longer time as consumption declines. But I doubt diesel will be eclipsed by EVs in the next 20 yrs.

Europe (inc GBR) runs 44 tons as standard and much heavier as STGO....

Special Types General Orders or STGOs are a set of regulations which allow unusual vehicles to be driven on UK highways. An STGO will indicate which category a vehicle is licenced to operate within. It also will identify the weight of a vehicle and will be clearly visible on the front of a vehicle.

Electric vehicles get an extra 2000lbs.

And there are a lot of routes of less than 500 miles. LA ports to Phoenix distribution centers is 400 miles.

I agree. Diesel will not be eclipsed bu EV’s, but it will be eclipsed by hydrogen IMO. Rolls Royce is in the testing phase with turbines, I understand there already exist large ships running it, and there are a number of companies with hydrogen fueled trucks. I also believe the hydrogen will be produced by on shore and offshore wind.
