    Thanks guys (and ever reliable birthday lady, Ms. Spindrift). Things have been mostly uneventful these last months. My Achilles tendon repair is working out although they weren't kidding when they said it would take a year to fully heal. I'm still on the mend but doing significantly better. I've been reasonably active for a few months but with somewhat limited endurance as far as walking is concerned. I'm quite comfortable doing "regular" stuff like carpentry, yard duties, shopping and somewhat longer (but not yet really long )walks. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and have been feeling a lot less "invalided."

    A bit early for the shared new year but my personal new year starts today so for this year I wish for an end to the dreadful war (Slava Ukraini). Trump in an orange jump suit would be a terrific bonus gift, but I'd settle for a new number 5 Lie Nielsen plane, a desire that seems a more likely prospect to achieve.

    Hey Lew, my daughter in Maine just gave birth to a baby girl this morn and soninlaw got a deer. Me? I’m on the platform watching the smoker smoke pork belly. Today can be Day 1 !

    Thanks good buddies. A relaxed and uneventful day was spent with family and friends. My sister, whom I last saw in Connecticut following the Mystic show flew in to be with us. I’m going to dust off the Lotus and show her the town today. We’ll hit some shops and the gang will go out for dinner tonight. A second day of celebrating me will not be refused!
