Definitely has the smell of an enterprise set up purely to extract money from investors, the standard Trump pattern.

Peter Thiel has all the Lex Luther / bond villan qualities, and he's been behind the scenes pulling strings for a long time.

fta: "...for consumers who find Wall Street too liberal."

how bloody ign'rant does a body have to be to find Wall Street - nearly the essence of conservative - to be 'too liberal'?

    fleecing the marks continues.

    You think?

But the difference is that capitalism as such is in some respects amoral, entirely unconcerned with the kind of issues these folks get so excited about. Megabucks LLC is quite happy to sell you gay pride flags, crucifixes to hang on the wall, 'God Is Pro-Life' bumper stickers, porn movies, bibles, organic tofu, or ammunition. They want capitalism that supports their particular prejudices.

it's not that mainstream banks are liberal, it's that they make concessions to social progress for commercial purposes.

though i suppose, making concessions to social progress for money might be "liberal" by the definition of the reactionary right.

by that definition, dallas cowboys owner jerry jones is a liberal, waffling about his photographed presence, blocking school integration at little rock in 1957.

I know it's been asked before, but where does a country that has accomplished so much find so many stupid people?
There is no rational, logical, or physical description of how free will could exist. It therefore makes no sense to praise or condemn anyone on the grounds they are a free willed self that made one choice but could have chosen something else. There is no evidence that such a situation is possible in our Universe. Demonstrate otherwise and I will be thrilled.

Promiscuous breeding and free-range parenting. We produce champions and runts. And there’s plenty of running room for all of them.

I still think you could shut down the worst of the puppy mills and be no worse off for it.

OMG. How did I miss that movie?

It explains Gaetz, Greene, Boebert, Gohmert, et al. The next Congress won’t do anything and will probably break a bunch of things (like defaulting on Treasury securities over a debt ceiling raise). But it will be amusing to watch Kevin McCarthy unravel as he tries to get a majority vote on anything, and to watch his clenched-teeth snails as he depends on McConnell to actually lead anything.

^ McConnell is truly evil, but McCarthy is simply an ass-kissing empty suit.

I used to work maintaining banking equipment, saw a few banks close down in the mid 1980's - the Fed ( Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation ) seemed to have no sense of humor, nor tolerance of impropriety when it came to money / assets of a member bank, as I recall.

And a damn good thing. Considering they were established in 1933, when banks failing had caused no end of misery, I'm not even a little surprised.
