Default Dinghy needs a mast. Need help to ID design or type of mast to build.

This dinghy is 9 feet from bow to stern and 5 feet wide. I am hoping to build a mast but not sure the height and design.

    Thanks for any help,
    Teresa

I might try looking at, then for, an El Toro rig.
An El Toro is an 8 foot pram, but the rig is a bit sporty. Bermudian catboat .
Unless you seek a particular type of other rig.

El toro rig is a good idea. Leave some play fore and aft and make little T shaped shims out of 1/4” ply so you can adjust the rake to work for the hull.

El Toro rig would be small for a boat 5 feet wide.

I don't recognize the design. It looks to me like a common type from the mid 20th century, build at home plywood boats. Glen-L was a big seller of such plans, they also appeared in Popular Mechanics and the plywood association published plans too. Good luck with it, it looks fun.

Looks like a Turnabout to me. Should be easy finding the rig specs as it's still sailed at least along the US northeast coast.

Looks like a Turnabout to me, too.
You might get plans/specs for the rig from the builder.

Turnabout carries 61 sq.ft. of sail.

About half again as much as an El Toro.
