    England: 25 / All Blacks: 25

    Twickenham yesterday.

Yes I know it’s the wrong shaped ball, but it was better than watching paint dry / watching Association Football.

I haven’t been in Doha for forty years. It was then famous for its spice souk. Apparently it still is. I distinctly remember seeing the « Dwarka » alongside in the port. A floating time warp:

Zero interest and not just because of the ludicrous venue.

I could never understand the fan mentality, be it football or a pop group. Mass hysteria, the kind of mentality olso taken advantage of by fundie religions. I guess it's the desire to belong too something bigger. I've never had that either.

Simpler is better, except when complicated looks really cool.

There are only 3 sports according to E Hemingway.
Bullfighting, mountain climbing and motor racing, all else is just a game.
I think bullfighting is just about blood, dust and mindless cruelty to a dumb animal, Mountain climbing? I get a nosebleed climbing a stepladder, Motor racing? I love motorsport but it's mostly just big business and egos at the top levels.

Any game that showcases a Schlithole like Qatar is certainly not worth an iota of my time...
Bald, ugly, not too bright but incredibly sexy in an unattractive sort of way....
