A used hybrid AWD Panamera would do nicely and at the same price of a similar Tesla.

in a grand tourismo? Well maybe too much as I want to keep it under 35k for everything.

a 2013 could be almost affordable.

These were used for covering all sorts of events, the self levelling suspension was a huge benefit. It was good enought to be licenced to Rolls-Royce and Bentley.Finding a reliable one in California might be challenging.

could almost make sense.

I have to say after seeing the new Porsche Dakar I’m smitten, such a better off road car than the silly bulbous silly IMHO Cayenne

That Dakar is sexy. I just can't cannibalize the great car I have to do something similar. The cayenne series are quite a capable off-roader, space and comfort are quite exceptional. The fact is one cant drive 170mph with all terrain outback tires.

It does look WAY better all rallied out than the typical Orange County Soccer mom Porsche SUV who’s tires of any kind never touch soft pavement.

One of my favourite automotive websites gives an unvarnished opinion on the vehicle: http://www.autoextremist.com/on-the-table1/ .
This sure doesn’t sound like the utilitarian vehicle for carrying 200lbs on the roof and towing a trailer.
no it does not. It dreams over my coffee. Priced out a new awd Maverick and it is 35k. A used F150 4WD with 60k runs over 22k and will get as used as this dreamy car. I can't keep beating my only car up.
I am teetering on the edge of swallowing the anchor and heading inland (again to Reno) as my wife wants. This means selling the boats and changing my work emphasis to fit more limited opportunities. She also wants me to travel more with her on her junkets leaving me with making options to satisfy my sense of adventure and willingness to do what others think too costly or way out. All my crazy interests and dreams always come down to doing it on a shoestring. I am frugal as get out. A fun off-road car is just another dream; a reason to put up with the horrible passive aggressive folks who help me make my way.

sounds good Ted. I’m driving a ‘97 F150. It runs but not well. Used car lot nearby has a 10 yr old Hyundai Elantra that looks good. I’ll probably spend it on kids shoes and bicycles instead. The six year old raced me to the top of the driveway as I rode my bicycle. It’s an uphill and got both of our hearts pumping.
Simpler is better, except when complicated looks really cool.
oh man! 2 cool bikes too.
It might beat this home grown safari build. Think they will take a 911 for a that truck?

I know you don’t like to watch full videos but in the middle he talks about the guy that own the one in the video bought the rights and the name and is producing them again. Also the one in the video is for sale pretty reasonably priced so far.
