Default How did we get here ?

While I’m please with this historically different midterm results, I’m baffled that it continues to be this close. Especially the Georgia run off. How any reasonably intelligent conservative Republicans can vote for Hershel Walker is mind blowing. He’s as poor of a candidate for senate as the rest of the clown car and his Democratic opponent is clearly the better candidate.

Not only Georgia but all the other races, how did the worst possible candidate get so many votes? It is 24 hr cable news, Social media echo chamber and disinformation or is it simply just owning the libs ? I’m afraid it might just come down to just plane stupidity? I long for the Goldwater / Buckley conservatives that are not drawn in by big lies and ignorance.

How did we get here ? Borowitz new book Profiles in Ignorance, great book BTW, seems to point to Ronald Reagan as the pivotal point. In Regan the RNC found a “Useful idiot” He wasn’t very smart but he was an ACTOR and he could be fed the lines and the agenda needed AKA the great communicator. He rairly flubbed a line and had that likability factor, and great hair. With the exception of GHW Bush the RNC and dipped lower and lower G “Dubya” Bush strait up ignorant bum fumbler ushered in the era of anti education Everyman candidate. So much so people like Ivy League Senators like Ted Cruze dumbed down their educational credentials to appeal to their red base. Again I ask how did we get here.

I thought the Democrat in Georgia had his own issues. But I don't get to vote there.

So you’re saying that Sen. Reverend Raphael Warnock had domestic violence, multiple abortions and complete ignorance of every single issue and how government works ?

Yes it is. Character and competence, truth and honesty do not matter to the 21st century GQP voter. All that matters is that the candidate is running as a Republican. They are voting for a brand. They expect any fool they elect will follow orders and toe the party line once in congress, which is all that matters to them.

I hope he does. After yesterdays voting Trumps expiration date is passed. I like how he is now throwing Melania under the bus for his endorsement of Oz. The S***show of Trump vs DeSantis will be fun to watch. I do hope that the Dems put up someone other than Biden?Harris.

How did we get here ?
It began with electing Barack Obama POTUS for two consecutive terms.

There are only three types of people according to the 21st century GQP: Republicans (read: MAGA radicals), RINOS and Liberals (all Democrats). That is it. RINOS and Liberals must be destroyed.

It began with the founders designing a system so that only the 'correct' people could become POTUS.
In other words people like them. And then came social media, private propaganda media and ronald and donald.

Warnock ran a church that rented to low income families. The church evicted families over trivial amounts of money. Trivial for the church. Significant for the families. He does not represent my values.

Neither represents my values. I would stay home.

I voted for one office in our elections. The person running had been a client of my wife's business in the past. We had some "access" during his previous time in office.

Actually, it started when Obama made a joke at Trump's expense at the White House Correspondents' Dinner. Trump can't take a joke.

Maybe not. His endorsed candidates haven't done as well as he probably expected.

    Can you elaborate?

Apparently she fell over and he ran over her foot. There was some police body-cam video of the two of them going at it after the cops arrived. The fight was due to him not paying to support his kids. He is also a slumlord. His church rents out crappy houses to low income people. He had a bunch of them evicted over very small amounts of money. Total scumbag.

You should also look up what his church’s tenants think of him for evicting them over very small amounts of money.

Proof? You take Warnock's word is true. I have no idea what would constitute proof for you.

I would suggest that you use whatever news service you trust to determine your version of truth.

Your video sits above some text saying the church evicted families. The video filed shows eviction notices. Over as little as $115. The video appears to be similar to those I have seen or reports I have read.

Well, when I have asked posters here for clarification on their posts I’ve been told to Google it for myself. I assume this is the etiquette here. I do not have a link handy. It has been a while since I have read about Rev. Warnock’s escapades.
