Oops! I didn’t explain that #boatober2022 is a drawing “challenge” for the month of October issued by an internet friend of mine. The idea is to draw (or paint, or sculpt, I suppose?) a boat (or boats) every day from a photograph prompt he provides. The plan is to finish one a day for the duration, if my hand holds up.

    Today’s challenge is a doozy!

Some technical difficulties with the tablet delayed day 5 for a while, but I hustled through, and it’s done. Well… done enough. On to Day 6!

I am reticent to speak about any business here, in deference to the rules. I simply wish to share these with everyone, because… boats!

I would absolutely love to have a reason to draw boats, other than just for fun, though. Ahem.

I apologize some of these boats are not wooden. And, that I’ve fallen behind. Here’s Day 9, finished. Whoo-hoo!

The prompt for Day 12 (I think?) is a tractor towing a boat. Can’t wait to get there!

Thanks for the kind words, all. I’ll keep throwing them up until all 31 are done.

That really is cool, I love the style of it!!! I thought it was one of those computer generated paintings from a photo, which is intended as a complement, it has the whole depth of field focus thing going on in the foreground and background and the perspective (to my eye) is perfect. Really nicely done Rob.
