    Default Mass Removed

I've had a mass on my left index finger for a couple of years. It's a little bump just after the last knuckle just before the nail. It was resting on a tangle of nerve endings so if I would hit it in anyway it would be white hot pain. I learned to avoid hitting it 80% of the time, but that 20% was not fun. The last time was when we were taking the bullet train from Florence to Milan and I was putting up the luggage on the top rack and bashed the finger good and the subsequent girl scream caught the attention of my wife who was trying to sleep. Tired of my occasional blood curtailing screams, she said "your getting that things looked at by a Dr when we get home.

So I go to my GP and he refers me to a hand surgeon, I go in today they num the hand up and remove the mass, three stitched and bandaged up and home.

It wasn't a ganglion cyst because it was hard, he cut it out and they are doing a biopsy. Although he doesn't think its cancerous. I'm waiting for the local to wear off to see how much Tylenol I need. They were prescribing Norco but I hate pain meds and how they make you feel.

I was going to say the same thing. I had 8 stitches in my left thumb where I failed at removing it with a 3 inch hole saw. Barely had any bandaging at all on it. Did it in the morning, got the stitches, and then made it home in time to go to work.

Cushioned, to give those nerves a little time to relax and get used to life without the bump.

When I cut a chunk out of my left index finger, the surgeon said I’d probably loose flexibility.
So, I went and bought a 60 year old Chevrolet 1Ton. Armstrong steering and that grip to release hand brake restored everything back to normal.

Grant’s got a point there. Joe, do you not know which is your index finger? I hope your signaling finger heals quickly.

Having hacked up a finger with my circular saw decades ago, I know that LOTS of padding helps.

There is no rational, logical, or physical description of how free will could exist. It therefore makes no sense to praise or condemn anyone on the grounds they are a free willed self that made one choice but could have chosen something else. There is no evidence that such a situation is possible in our Universe. Demonstrate otherwise and I will be thrilled.

I had a pea sized cyst develop on the inside of my left middle finger when I took up kayaking over 35 yrs ago. Got it cut out but didn’t get that spectacular of a bandage.

My ring finger in my left hand is tightening up through my palm. It will (should) eventually sit perpendicular to my hand apparently. Presently I can't push it back beyond the plain of my palm.

I recently started to teach myself guitar.
It won't voluntarily bend backwards even a little bit, but definitely stopped progress toward 90 degrees and improved dexterity. Best Physio I can think of.

Leo Kottke over did hisself in his early work. You can't make the sound of two without burning out.
Last time I attended a Leo Kottke performance was 88 or 89 at the Fermi Lab auditorium still learning to adapt a style. He said "some days a good and others are shoveling rocks". We got the later.
