Default A new contender for the "ugliest car" title

A little while ago I learned of the existence of a far from beautiful car.Right up there with the Ssang-Yong Rodius or Pontiac Aztek.Whats more its European, but on the redeeming side it is just a concept at this stage.Step forward the Citroen Oli and this is the front of it.There are reasons it seems.

That gives the Aztek a run for its money.

And they thought the Edsel was ugly.

    That doesn't bode well.

My youngest grandkids play a digital game called “Roblox”. This design looks like it originated in my 8 year old’s iPhone.

The earlier Multipa ( circa 1960's ) really looked a lot better !

It's so your face doesn't have to travel so far to hit the windshield. Allows the use of smaller airbags, under higher pressure.

I am thinking it's growing on me, for what it is. A flat windshield is fine at the speeds it can go, top speed 68 mph. Safety would be my biggest concern but seeing the design specs. looks to be a green VW bug I think it's wins. If the price was really kept down (like the Model T or VW bug) at a time when prices for cars are skyrocketing it could go big.

Citroen has a history of "surprising" designs.
When you see these cars in actual life they look remarkably good

The Multipla went from ugly, in a distinctively quirky way, to dull looking.
I haven't been in one but those who have them seem to love them and enjoy their looks

That Citroen concept is just designers doing what untrained oafs, such as I, can't understand and are probably unqualified to comment on. Some features might see production in a diluted way

Friends in UK had a couple and liked them. The revamp was when they were getting a bit long in the tooth, so sales were lower.

Really ugly was the Nissan Juke.

I'm with Jay that it has a Lego vibe. As far as ugly goes - it's so bad it's cute. In fact, while watching the video, I started liking it & could enjoy it I think. I realize it won't be built, but it's wonderful to see a sane EV - 200 mile range, 2200 lbs & max speed of 68 would be perfect for an around town car & even better - its purposeful reuse concept is great, as is the use of recycled plastic.

Of course it's far too interesting for it to ever come to the US plus we need 6000 lb 800HP EVs - not small efficient ones. [end sarcasm]

    Could be, yah.

I wonder how that Citroen would be to drive in winter, when snow & ice are getting thrown/blown up into your path by traffic ahead and beside you?

Affordability closer than anything else I've seen advertised though... https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/n...323k-family-ev - with the exchange rate where it is right now.

It has windows big enough to actually see through so that's a positive sign. Not everyone is ready to see the world through cameras.
There is no rational, logical, or physical description of how free will could exist. It therefore makes no sense to praise or condemn anyone on the grounds they are a free willed self that made one choice but could have chosen something else. There is no evidence that such a situation is possible in our Universe. Demonstrate otherwise and I will be thrilled.

Still is. The back of that car turns my stomach. I loved my (early model) Nissan Note. It looked like this...

...Quite ugly, though a Tardis within, and with an awesome diesel option.

If I remember correctly, the history channel's show on cars, this was one of the cars the engineers argued wasn't ready for production yet, but they lost the argument.

Since only one was made, I think they may have won the argument. The $100,000 price tag may have been a tad high in 1935. Edsel went on to do the Lincoln Continental series, which did pretty well.
