    Default Fedex.

UPDATE: It was delivered today. Only took 2 days after all.

We had a delayed bag on our return from Norway. They don’t call it lost luggage, its delayed.
    We filed a claim.
Two days later, we got a call from Oslo, they had the suitcase and would put it on a plane.
Yesterday, Sept 28, we got a call from SeaTac airport. The bag was handed over to FedEx for door to door delivery. This morning, FedEx tracking says the bag has traveled 12 miles to their sorting facility. It will take 4 more days to travel the final 18 miles to my house.

I bought 5 cases of one of a kind small vintners in the Chianti Classico region of Tuscany.
I walked the dog for 10 minutes and FedEx left a missed delivery on my door.

I called them and they said they will return the next day. I waited for the delivery all day the next day only to find out the two cases were "damaged" so they were sent back to the shipper in Long Island. I called the shipper and said please look at the cases and resend them if they are undamaged. They arrived undamaged. Then two more cases arrived and now we are waiting for one more last case that is supposed to arrive tomorrow.

We often get notices that we weren't home when they attempted delivery, when I know we were. For one thing, our dog lets us KNOW when they arrive. The worst one, though was a delivery to our neighbor. We noticed tire tracks at the end of our driveway near the barn. A 55 gallon burn barrel was flattened, as was my wife's prize rosemary bush. The driver came up our driveway by mistake, and opted to drive across our property and the neighbor's, a total of about a 1/4 mile of off-roading. What would make you think that it's OK to drive a delivery truck across a lawn? How do you not see a 55 gallon drum standing vertically? FedEx came out to inspect, repaired the ruts in the lawn, and gave us a few bucks towards the burn barrel and rosemary bush. They said that that driver no longer works for us.

One heckuva lot better than LaPoste.
I feel for you Fred… must be frustrating! I keep my package where it belongs and get to look at it every day!

My former employer once sent me a replacement laptop ( I was a remote worker long before Covid, etc) from their location in Minnesota. I live approximately 15 miles from the Charlotte NC airport, and asked if we could do a 'counter to counter' shipment. Instead, they sent it UPS, and it was flown to the Charlotte airport, put on a truck to their NC sorting center, then to their Virginia sorting center, back on a truck to the SC sorting center, and then trucked to my house. I suppose that was their idea of 'efficiency '

FedEx are the only delivery guys to leave packages out in the rain on the path on the side of the house. All other delivery services put them on the front porch under the roof that keeps them out of the rain.

    Shame about that nice wine….

I get fedex at home three or four times a week for the last 20 years. Im sure they have goofed a time or three during that time, but I cant remember anything truly egregious

Now, the US Postal Service, thats an organization I could rant about.

I understand your frustration. If you ever need wine shipped again keep in mind we have quite a bit of cargo capacity in our boat and could transport it for you. I guarantee there won't be any broken bottles, but *sometimes* corks pop out and contents are lost

    Cheers,

As I’m sure you know, Shipping alcohol is the issue here. They’ll leave a brand new iPhone on your porch but a case of wine needs a signature.

kids were buying alcohol online and getting Around the minimum drinking age laws. That’s what this is all about.

Yea I would believe that if 2 out of the 5 cases were just left in front of my door with no signature required. The other 3 required a signature.
