Sad news. A guy is his prime.

This one punch thing was a thing in NSW Wales for a while.

The perpetrator would come up and without any warning punch as hard as they could. Most frequently from the side or from behind so the victim wouldn't have any chance to avoid the contact. Surprising how many ended in death.
They brought in very severe penalties for it. The guy who punched him is probably looking at a goolyd chunk of his life behind bars.

I'd just put him down, on the same basis and process as a dog that bites.

It’s not the punch that is the direct cause of death but rather the one punch knocks out the victim who falls back and has no conscious action to protect for the fall. The head hits the pavement, usually concrete, with full force causing brain damage resulting in the death of the victim. The real danger is fighting on the footpath outside the pub. Pubs in Victoria had a policy of ejecting patrons who were involved in a fight irrespective of the instigator and this policy can led to the death of the person on the receiving end of someone’s aggression. I took a bloke to hospital once from this exact scenario and the poor bloke did nothing to attract the aggressive behaviour. I noticed the bastard attacker walk into the pub while I was lining up at the bar. I sensed their vibe when our eyes crossed paths and averted their gaze immediately and left the area. The fight broke out a few minutes later, they were literally shoved out onto the street where the victim was set upon, head stomps and all. Then the attackers made their escape. The sickest behaviour I have ever seen! I cannot understand why anyone would head stomp a guy lying on unconscious the ground. That’s behaviour lower than an animal. Luckily the victim lived without serious injury.

A free, uncontrolled drop of not more than couple of feet can result in a potentially fatal skull fracture.

The man accused of killing former pro-surfer Chris Davidson on the New South Wales Mid North Coast has been remanded in custody, as the shocked small-knit community tries to come to terms with the death.

  Grant Alec Coleman, 42, from South West Rocks has been charged with assault causing death and intentionally choking a person.
  Mr Coleman did not appear in the Kempsey Local Court today where bail was formally refused.
