    Sunrises are under-rated

This is over Houston. 150 miles away.

    Looks like a direct hit.

I agree, they are very important. The more of them I'm around for the better……...

I love the early morning. I esp. appreciate them because I'm rarely around to see them. But waking on the river and peeking out of the boat/tent to greet the dawn is a special thing indeed.

I was on a delivery at the east end of the Strait of Juan de Fuca for this one with the sun coming up over Mt. Baker:

Right through school and for much of my working life, I headed directly into the rising sun in the morning and the setting sun in the evening. Many hours of squinting and struggling to see. It gave me wrinkles and ruined my modelling career JayInOz

Hmmm... the sun coming UP out of the water.

Beautiful, for sure, but it just seems backward somehow <G>

Its only backwards if you are stuck ashore....

There are two kinds of boaters: those who have run aground, and those who lie about it.

So if a photo is taken with the sun low in the sky, and you are not told if the sun is rising or setting, is it usually readily apparent in the photo?
