    There is nothing quite as permanent as a good temporary repair.

    Those vessels were owned by the nonprofit Columbia Watershed Environmental Advocates, who I believe planned to restore them, but when the founder of the group died the project stalled and the group was waived of responsibility for the vessels. I read the group had also planned to make a floating museum. Sadly, they were left derelict and some local squatters were using them and likely selling/removing valuable parts.

    They are rust buckets. The absolute worst project boat to take on. A constant battle against corrosion, both inside and out..
    It really is quite difficult to build an ugly wooden boat.
