A heads up for Jamie’s WBF friends. I just got off the phone with him. Jamie fell at home when he arose from bed one night to go to the bathroom. He became faint and fell landing hard on his butt. His weight is down to about 150 lbs so he no longer has the padding he once did. The result was a broken back. He has been in the hospital for three weeks. He expects to be there for a couple more weeks.

Jamie has no internet access in the hospital (so he did not see the recent post about Airlie but he was not surprised that the current owner bit off more than he can chew) but he can receive text messages and phone calls. He told me it is OK to give his WBF friends his contact info if they would like to communicate with him. PM me if you would like to do so and need the info. He is going a bit stir crazy in the hospital but warned that anyone phoning him may catch him while he is on pain killers. He was experiencing dry mouth from the meds when I talked with him which made conversation require a bit of patience. He asked me to say “Hi” to everyone for him.

Yes. Jamie has a number of ills. He has one functioning kidney and that one ain't too good. He is on medications for his heart. He has a bad leg that doesn't want to heal. He has a public health nurse who visits him weekly to monitor his condition and change his bandages. But he is a tough old codger as Kevin T noted. He complains about doctors, nurses, and hospitals and has seen too many of them over the last two years or so. He remains upbeat and determined. Until now I have kept Jamie's ailments to myself figuring it was his story to tell. But he let me know today it is OK to let people know what is going on with him. He reached out to me a few years ago and we have maintained regular communication since.
