    Default The Kiwi PM

I can't believe she actually took the drug test. The retrograde patriarchy imposes itself.

What's next, apologizing for being young and happy?

Immediately, Twitter and TicTok and whatever else is in Finland was jammed with 30 something women dancing and laughing and having fun. Shocking!

Lots of tut-tutting by old white male politicians who cannot cope with a young woman PM who likes to have some fun.
    Double standards abound….

We have a young female priest in our Episcopal Church who likes to dance.
    Scandalous!!
All of us old farts get a real kick out of it.

Link? All I found was videos in response. If people are upset about her dancing, that's really, really sad. Even more so to see that a more enlightened country would give her the AOC treatment.

For the slightly confused among us, an aide-mémoire:

Sanna Marin, Prime Minister of Finland.

Jacinda Ardern, Prime Minister of New Zealand:

Now there is a photo of some of her guests, topless. For this, she had to apologize.

Putin can pose topless himself, but a woman is held to a double standard.

We already know that Truss and Piffle’s only abilities are those of badly spoiled toddlers. Caligula’s horse Incitatus had more ability than those two.

Piffle, likely. Truss has yet to show her talents, though she did do a few good things before?
Incitatus, well, not been around for a while and time may have sweetened the memory. Personally, I find horses a bit dumb. Good at running, getting patted, but not too hot on politics.....(I helped out at a local riding stable, way back, doubt that they are any better now.)

My ref to PI's post was derogatory as the two PMs are quite attractive... though I notice that Arden is not good in the polls. In the current climate, anybody who wants the job must be suspect....

Amoungst other things, Labour (Ardern) are trying to push through some extremely poorly explained, but badly needed changes, that have also had the dial set a little close to "woke". At least that is the perception. Refer comment about badly explained.

It's one of those "you can see both sides" types of arguments. You want your head of state to be serious an focused. You definitely don't want to think of them as doing a line of coke before they decide how to manage inflation or the next pandemic. But they are people and they do have private lives and should be free to enjoy them as they please so long as anything they do does not violate their oath of office.

You cant have our PM, she's coped with some extraordinary events in her time at the top, and although not perfect has done enormously better than any of the other possibles that I can think of, including the current leader of the opposition.

We'd like to keep her. I bet that Finland feels the same.

It must be nice to have a national leader you can look at without wanting to throw up.

For instance, the Prime Minister of Iceland, Katrín Jakobsdóttir, 41, smart as a whip, environmentally savvy.

The Prime Minister of New Zealand was on Colbert not long ago.

I was impressed. She was very real and smart.

Like Helen Clark , who was PM when I lived there. Admirable and effective leader, I thought.

If you are surprised at how white old men treated Sanna, look at how they clutched pearls when that video of AOC dancing in University surfaced.

Old white men have been relying on the old image, 'old, white and in a suit' to get elected for a very long time and they are terrified that this will no longer be enough, and that they will be replaced by the very girls they ogle in the street or who are cheerleaders for their football team because they are better, smarter, more savvy and all round better people.
Re AOC, also comes MTG. But both are female.

I can't understand the longevity of the story.
Still in international papers nearly a week on.

Is this the world simply processing it - young person, doing young person stuff while also being a leader of a country. Person not of the 'old order' is in charge.
The world is just trying to wrap its head around it....?
