I'm jealous. Italy is my favorite place to visit. The people, the food, the history, it's terrific! I hope you enjoy your time there.

Envious. We were sort of planning an Italy trip before Covid, might have to fire the plans up again. So many things there I would like to see, the Carrera quarry being one of the first.

So after 19 hrs of traveling we made it to our loverly Airbnb in Bologna. We took a shower, changed and hit the city for a late lunch of tortellini en brodo and a nice glass of primitivo. The city is loverly but I will say there is an awful lot of bad graffiti everywhere which really distracts from the beautiful architecture and really is a shame. Somehow it reminds me of living in NYC dirtying the 70’s.

I just woke up from a 2 hr coma nap and renee is just starting to stir. We will probably hit the city again and check out the cafe society and see what the evening has in store for us.

Oh and here’s a few photos

My favorite Italian wine is Angiuli Donato Maccone Primitivo.

Goes with antipasti, hearty red sauce dishes, garlic roast chicken, etc. I managed to order a case a few years ago, but it's hard to get in the 'States. Give it a go if you get the chance.

I hate to admit it, but the worst pizza I ever had, was in Italy.
"Reason and facts are sacrificed to opinion and myth. Demonstrable falsehoods are circulated and recycled as fact. Narrow minded opinion refuses to be subjected to thought and analysis. Too many now subject events to a prefabricated set of interpretations, usually provided by a biased media source. The myth is more comfortable than the often difficult search for truth."

I finally had real NY pizza, at the EBS.

I would not fist fight anyone for a slice.

ETA: I mean, it was tasty pie, sure. Worth all the fuss about it? Meh.
