I'd bet that in Mr Jones's case, it's genuine mental illness, some variety of sociopathy / personality disorder, where he genuinely doesn't know the difference between truth and lies, at least when it comes out of his own mouth.

I just cannot imagine going through life like that guy. Seems like a miserable existence, no matter how much money he has.

And perjury charges would not surprise me if they were pursued. The lack of contempt charges from the judge thus far does surprise me.

There does seem to be a lack of will to actually hold people accountable.
