I just cannot imagine going through life like that guy. Seems like a miserable existence, no matter how much money he has.

And perjury charges would not surprise me if they were pursued. The lack of contempt charges from the judge thus far does surprise me.

There does seem to be a lack of will to actually hold people accountable.

Let's hope that this decision is just the first of many and that Jones is just the beginning.

He’s a walking time bomb. Just look at him. What a miserable turd. No wonder he’s such an ogre. It’s hard to tell who is uglier, Bannon or Jones. Both the very definition of mieskeit. I favor the Yiddish word for bone deep ugly. It’s a perfect pejorative. https://www.lexico.com/en/definition/mieskeit

Some seriously sicko mentality going on there and it has been repeated all over the place.............. opportunists milking a tragic situation to fill their back accounts while willingly doing untold psychological damage to people already deeply traumatised.......while also turning 'the mob against the traumatised! This should have been shut down years ago......shut down and run out of town. Free speech should not be a licence to lie in the manner that Jones has on the platform that he has! There should be a code of ethics to adhere to in order to obtain a broadcast licence and where provable lies abound they should be shut down!

I find some small encouragement in that AP article labeling him as "conspiracy theorist Alex Jones". He's been given gracious titles like "journalist" or "podcaster" or "firebrand of the right" for too long.

Apparently, after getting hammered in court for almost two-hundred-fifty million bucks, and being embarrassed on the stand, on camera, by a judge and jury, the sick evil putz is still on the air. Freedum. Without doing 'the research' I am willing to bet that there are some even deeper pockets backing him. I use the term 'him' loosely. It's too bad we can't out the invisible ones, too.

He's still on the air because he's filed for bankruptcy, and part of that process is about enabling you to generate income (under much scrutiny) so that you can pay off the debts (like court judgements).

The bankruptcy is opening another can of worms, though, because the vitamin/supplement supplier to which pays big money appears to be "owned" by his parents, and the order fulfillment company to which he pays big money appears to be a very poorly-veiled subsidiary of infowars.

    Bloomberg article from last week.

I find it a bit odd, and a bit comforting, that more and more see limits to 'free speech'. Fraud, Libel, slander and inciting violence are not free speech. At least that's what I was taught.

Remember about a year ago when a CT judge issued a default judgement against Jones for failing to cooperate in the discovery process? The trial to decide damages starts today.

It does not begin well for poor mr jones, as the judge has already (before the jury even enters the room) sanctioned Jones legal team for further failure to cooperate; They are forbidden from attempting to argue or submit evidence that Jones did not profit from his lies.

    That should save some time.

Nah. He should have to live with the consequences of his actions.

The most important t thing that needs to be done with Alex Jones is permanently shutting down his ability to address the public.
A society predicated on the assumption that everyone in it should want to get rich is not well situated to become either ethical or imaginative.

I'm not sure of what it really takes for a bankruptcy process to move from "keeping you afloat so you can pay" mode to "shutdown and forfeiture and liquidation of assets" mode, but it does seem to be trending in that direction.

thanks to those parents for having the heart to see this through. don't know if i could do it in their place. it's important to push back against such corrosive lies, hopefully all the would-be corrosive liars are observing.

He appears significantly less healthy in court than in other recent appearances. I cynically suspect a Harvey Weinstein situation.
