Default When is it time to quit the Bilge?

I keep thinking that when an armed revolution by neo-nazis begins, posting on the WBFB will become dangerous to the one posting. It may already be too late.

I drop in somewhere between once a month or once a week-ish. NOTHING has changed in the bilge since I got involved in Y2K. NOTHING. Same politics ... same arguments ... same holier-than-thou know-it-alls!

But I still drop in ... all good!
Nothing else matters but how I raise my children ... and their opinion of me, as a father.

G'day Brad, you should grace us with your presence more often. But you are right about the bilge, the pumpers may change but the place remains the same. Level never seems to go down.
And the topics? Politics never goes away, and you'll remember when ply boats weren't wooden enough in some quarters?

Anytime is the right time. Leave early, leave often. It's good for your mental health, and everyone here will thank you.

I'm with brad on this one. Same old rags being wrung out again and again, by the same old wringers.

It is not completely bootless paranoia to wonder about the nefarious uses of your social media presence that some hypothetical future dictatorship might engage in. Not high on my list of worries, but not what I'd call unhinged.

If we let history be our guide, the most dangerous thing to be after a neo-nazi takeover in the US is a neo-nazi from the the faction that lost the power struggle.

Indeed it is. The photo is from the movie of the same name, so it's not a real prison photo, but it is a quite accurate portrayal. Danny wasn't an Esse ("S" for Sureno - Nuestra Familia,) as I recall. I believe he was an Eme ("M" for Mexican Mafia.) He was at Quentin until just before I started working there. He was a really great boxer and held a couple of championship titles in the joint. He got his act together ultimately and a few years after he was out he got picked up to do some boxing in a movie, Runaway Train staring John Voight. As the saying goes, "the rest was history." Guys I know who knew him in the joint say he was a stand-up guy. It's always great to see somebody make it after being caught in the revolving door of the CA prison system.

    When?

I'd say when your contributions contribute more noise than signal.
