I have not yet contracted the virus. Who among you can say the same? Not Anthony S. Fauci. Not President Biden. Not Denzel Washington, Camila Cabello or Lionel Messi. Not your friend who’s even more cautious than you but who finally caught it last week. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimated that nearly 60 percent of Americans had contracted the virus at some point — and that was as of the end of February, before the extremely contagious BA.4 and BA.5 variants became rampant.

We haven't been going out of our way to avoid it beyond following the mask rule du jour, and my better half works with all sorts in her role as an occupational health nurse, but so far neither of us have had it - that we know of.
In fact, I've only one cough in the last two years - and that was 18 months ago. I had a PCR test back then, but haven't felt the need to stick anything up my nose since.
Three of us in my work group of seven have avoided it so far, the other four have all been over the last few months. Good luck, good genes, good management, take your pick, but I think it is just a matter of time.

Both shots and both boosters. The mask goes on in every public place, but it is a cloth mask. I keep a distance from unmasked, but less conscientiously from masked people. Will be getting next booster as soon as possible.

My wife and I had it in May. We are more cautious than the people we know--wear masks at gas station/grocery, don't go much of anywhere else. Caught it through my wife's singing with a choir (members were required to be vaccinated, but not masked--my wife sang in a mask) when someone got infected and spread it to several others.

A decidedly unpleasant 3-4 days for us (vaccinated and boosted), but not hospital-worthy.

Neither of us have had it, but my folks have, and my dad is having a long recovery. Of course, we've been sequestered for seven months, to the extent that life and chemo allow. I head back to the office a week from Monday...

What are you doing about it?

I caught it pre vaccine, and my sense of smell is still not working. Yes, it’s been a long time with no sense of smell and a modified sense of taste.

I've had it twice. Paul and I had it over Thanksgiving 2021, then I had it again a few weeks ago. I came down with it a few days after having some medical tests at the hospital. I'm fully vaccinated and boosted. The second time was worse then the first because I let myself get dehydrated.

Fully vaccinated and boosted and both my wife and I got it.
NZ is going through round 2 and I know quite a few who have got it a 2nd time.
I fully expect to add us to that list too sometime.

I have been traveling by air every week right through the pandemic. I have not caught it. I may have been infected yet asymptomatic, but I have not been sick or tested positive.

There was a strong rise in COVID cases around here after the July 4 parties, but still nobody is wearing masks in the stores (except me).

We may all get it eventually, but I'm happy to take my time.

April 2020. Real deal. Swept through the steel fab Co. I worked at. Unlike poor Rob, my sense of smell was limited to coffee.

Most people I know have had it, on both ends of the political spectrum, too. In fact, some of the most careful people I know have had it. We had a scare this week. We went to a birthday party a week ago, and the guy next to my wife, and directly across from me came up positive the next day. We had shaken hands, and he was a loud, demonstrative talker all evening long. We waited for the other shoe to drop, but it never did. Per CDC guidelines, we waited 6 days, then tested. We've both had both shots and both boosters, and are in better than average health than most people our age. Coincidentally, we had a 'healing service' at our church the Sunday after, with the pastor laying on hands and anointing with oil. I'm not sure where I stand on faith healing, but maybe it helped?

I've been exposed to the virus, e.g. sharing bed with my wife when she had it, but haven't cought it. She developed antibodies, I didn't. I've been moderately careful, no masks but avoiding crowded places.

Pretty certain I had it in Greece. Girlfriend tested positive and had to extend her stay,(just prior to US cancelling testing for travel) and we both had minor symptoms. Minor enough that we didn’t consider covid might be the cause. Got a cough for a few days after and had a slight fever. I never tested, just isolated with her.

My Wife flew to Salt Lake City a little more than a month ago, and came down with it on Her return. And I got it about a week later. Both of us fully shot and boosted, Both mild and no hospital care. I'll get the next available booster, too. Still mask in public indoors. Last night was the first time I've had dinner out, with the daughter and the grandkids, who've not had it yet, since before the pandemic.

Neither of us had had it. We carry masks all the time and put then on when we are going to be withing 20-30 feet of anyone. I always wear my N95 when I go into any building. The only place I have been without my mask was the dentist and I only went to the dentist because I had a terrible tooth ache (turned out to be a sinus infection). Other than that the only buildings I have been inside are grocery stores. I have a variety of leukemia that really compromises your immune system and my immune system is just now almost back to low normal following treatment 4.5 years ago. The treatment completely destroyed my ability to form antibodies. In addition, for people with my particular leukemia Covid was 35% fatal early in the pandemic. So I don't want to get it. Because of that my oncologist wanted to play it safe with vaccinations so I have had full sequences of both the Phizer and Moderna vacines. The shots were spaced so that I have not been over three months between shots. When the next booster becomes available I will get two more shots. In addition to my situation my wife is 78 and is even more careful than I am. She wears a mask whenever she leaves the house even to water plants in the garden. Note that we live on a private road and on a typical day only 2 cars drive by and no one walks by.

Still bug-free, but for how long? If we go out to eat ( rarely) we choose a place with an outside patio. No movies, etc. Avoid large crowded spaces. No aiports.

I have half-anticipated that this will all end like the Andromeda Strain, where the last mutant variant renders it harmless.

I caught it a month before I was due to have surgery. I could almost not have the surgery because I was still testing positive.

This is after I was close to the front of the line to get vaccinated and get my first booster. Thankfully all I got was a sore throat, stuffy sinuses, and a sense of malaise for a few days.

Because I work for a casino with 6000 employees plus untold hundreds of thousands of visitors, I got my second booster this past monday.

I got it, possibly for the first time, a few weeks ago in Dublin. Very few people were wearing masks on planes or in the airports and these places were packed with people. I noticed a lot of coughing going on. I think if you are traveling you may be doomed to get it. I am fully vaccinated and had a runny nose and fever of 103F. The fever lasted a few days.

Monday I left the increasingly small subset of people that haven't had it and crossed over to the other side. I haven't and still don't have any symptoms other than a slight case of sniffles. Far less than the occasional sinus infections I get. I did a home test because I'd spent a lot of time helping a friend who was hospitalized, and sure enough...

But if I caught it at the hospital, it was entirely my fault. In Florida masks are optional - even in hospitals - and I was slack about wearing one. Besides, our governor says Covid didn't happen, kids don't need to be vaccinated, and not to worry about it. Surely that flaming little twit knows more than the CDC... r

I'm vaccinated/boosted, and had a couple of days of intense vomiting, diarrhea, and a fever up to 104.8. My wife had severe cold symptoms, fever around 101/102, and no vomiting. But the fatigue stuck with us both for about two weeks. No loss of sense of smell.

swmbo and I both contracted it early-on, before vax's, even before testing was widely available. I imagine 'my fault', working at a clinic. We both have a version of 'long-covid', and it's been tough. We're both vaxxed now, and dbbl-boosted - but I'm seeing much more covid now, than from a year ago. Most folks aren't particularly ill - combination of mostly vaxxed, or have had/recovered from illness. But yeah - we are all going to 'get it', and likely, repeatedly.

We've posted a bunch of data and graphs and maps indicating the undisputed evidence that right wing population is much more likely to contract the virus, much more likely to be unvaccinated and sadly much more likely to die .

Suffice to say I don't have patience or the inclination to assist you in this search - maybe someone like Keith will make the effort again.

Maybe yes I’ve had it? Maybe twice? I was tested once and it came back negative. I still felt like absolute hell each time though, so who knows. I stayed home and avoided people (a pleasure actually) until I felt better. I’m fully vaccinated and Covid really isn’t on my mind at all anymore. I haven’t worn a mask in forever other than in the rare store that required it. Happy to oblige. Lots of people are here do still wear masks. Probably a smart choice.

I think my experience is pretty standard.

I'd agree; we wear a mask, if we go into a store - and get 'funny looks' but no confrontation What 'they' don't understand is - we're wearing 'for them'; I'm more likely to have/not know/be contagious. The masks do more to diminish spread, than to protect me.
