Can you claim salvage rights ?!? The spoiler on the Cayman's is supposed to be speed operated, far as I know. They're a very civilized ride, but still feel nimble. Have you reported the plate to the police?

Police checked it out, not stolen, owner said he’d handle it. He hasn’t.

Yes, very expensive tires. The spoiler rises at 70mph, retracts again at 55. Which means if it’s up, the State bulls know you were over the speed limit at some point.

Not normal on my Boxster, but I think you can hack it. Funny thing is, it can’t be seen in the mirrors so no way of knowing if it’s up or down.

Am I right in thinking that the spoiler can be lifted by a button push to allow for cleaning?It also allows the show off types to run with it lifted,in which state it might contribute as much downforce as a couple of bags of sugar.......

You might be right. I think I remember that there might be an override switch down by the fuse panel. But I’ve had this Boxster about 22 years and never used that switch.
