What happens if people refuse to answer the survey?
Or if they emulate politicians and simply lie?
If I were a student, I’d fill out a dozen surveys with random made-up names, answer every question with something like ‘none of the above,’ or ‘yo mama, fool,’ and I’d append an essay on freedom of thought and the danger of having sh!thead evil governors in charge of anything to do with higher education in the state, and then I’d sign them with the name of his wife and kids if he has any. Then I’d see about a transfer to some school not beholden to nazis. And then, why then, I’d make a thousand copies and drop them everywhere he parked his car.
Speak softly and carry a mouthful of marbles.
A certain Eastern European state at present at war wiould be proud of him.
I really want to see the survey instrument that they use . .
it cannot possibly be anything but a total hoot.
(Albeit a scary hoot)
The land of the free?
Then the cafeterias to prevent stale bread.
stale or State ?
Lack of COVID mitigation methods!
New election police force!!
Redistricting to reduce some communities voting strength!!!
Picking fights with Disney!!!!
and now surveys to prevent "stale ideology"?
Why was I in such a hurry to get back to the sunshine state?
PS I love Jim's idea!
“Perpetual optimism is a force to live by.”
― Colin Powell
Ideas, philosophy, thought are supposed to make people uncomfortable. Not to be a sort of intellectually dead snuggie.
There is no rational, logical, or physical description of how free will could exist. It therefore makes no sense to praise or condemn anyone on the grounds they are a free willed self that made one choice but could have chosen something else. There is no evidence that such a situation is possible in our Universe. Demonstrate otherwise and I will be thrilled.
I'd lay a bet that the questionnaire will include asking what political party the students parents belong to.
John Welsford
An expert is but a beginner with experience.
What does it mean to be "indoctrinating students"? Does it mean teaching ideas that run contrary to the majority opinion, or teaching ideas that run parallel to the majority opinion that the governor does not support?
If it were me, I'd answer the same way I respond to GOP polls and fund raisers: "I think that Donald Trump should be in jail or shot by a firing squad for treason and crimes against the Constitution, and I will not vote for any Republican until that is accomplished!"
That always shuts them up!![]()

I used to use a version of this test instrument in my classes . .

But the information gathered was totally personal and private . . (I am extreme left libertarian, whatever that means)
DeSatan is going full-on authoritarian in thinking the state has any right whatsoever to have access to the info.
In some ways I agree with the Governor, provided I didn't need to sign the questionnaire. MY beliefs are are none his gd business. On the other hand my own university has become "politically correct". It is not the only one where critical thinking is not encouraged, or worse yet bullied into silence.
I am reminded of a British MP who stated (approximately) "Sir, I totally disagree with what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it." How many agree with that today?
