Next up, required head and face coverings for women.
Many things on my plate this morning.
I have excerpted the holding below.

Don’t expect much, and you won’t be disappointed…
Jesus. WTF is happening to this country....I'm sick
Settled law my ass. Those lying scum.
And a special thanks to Senator Susan Collins. I hope your daughters and grand daughters will be proud of you.
Man I bet Susan Collins is REALLY concerned now.
Clarence Thomas's majority Supreme Court opinion on abortion makes it very clear that next to “reconsider” will include rights to contraceptives and marriage equality.

Clarence Thomas better hope they dont ban interracial marriage. Doesnt seem like much of stretch now.
I wonder when the start jailing gay people and legalize lynching?
Time to pack the court.
I think conservatives have gotten to the dog-caught-the-car moment.

I am also sick and so angry. The supreme court now has overturned two rules in two days that were to protect people. Now one can carry a concealed weapon almost anywhere and a woman no longer has the rights over her own body. It is so shocking.
This is a horrific day for women, for this country. These games and pandering that most of our politicians on both sides have now destroyed a system of protections to women and criminalized those who help them. It is a very dark day for women with a great chance hundreds of thousands of people getting hurt or dying. It will be hard to put today back into the bottle of nearly civil discourse given the hardened positions and potential for acts of violence with so many weapons.

Without friends none of this is possible.
Roe finding of an implicit right to privacy puts a lot of other decision at risk, since their underpinnings were built on that right of privacy. The language about rights being "deeply rooted in this Nation's history" and "implicit in the concept of ordered liberty" puts (at a minimum) these cases at risk:
- Griswold: contraception
- Loving: interracial marriage
- Lawrence: overturned sodomy laws
- Obergefell: allowed same-sex marriages
I'm sure there are others, but I'm willing to bet that they'll be going after the latter 2 at least.
As a side note: I can't think of any right more American than the right to privacy.

One thought: If the same percentage of young people voted as old, things would look very different.

One more time people..
The problem with the progressives and liberals right now is that they are still treating this situation like we are in a state of normalcy. - Malcolm Nance

It would be naive to depend on the Supreme Court to defend the rights of poor people, women, people of color, dissenters of all kinds. Those rights only come alive when citizens organize, protest, demonstrate, strike, boycott, rebel, and violate the law in order to uphold justice. - Howard Zinn

what just happened is what happens when True Blues feel they are so right that others have no choice but to vote their Faired Haired version of a Conservative. Dems, by their hubris, own this failure. But true to the call of hubris, they will continue to blame everyone but themselves.
I would imagine todays ruling will mostly affect 'younger' folks, moreso than older. Perhaps they will be more motivated to pay attention, and to vote.
But - I just asked one of my nurses (20-something, single) her opinion - she is ecstatic RvW was overturned - 'it's murder'. I asked about contraception - 'I can't support overturning that'. Me - 'where do you draw the line?'
There's a lot of things they didn't tell me when I signed on with this outfit....

Who is supposed to regulate that 'well regulated militia'? Meanwhile, embryos enjoy massive protections while children are not safe in school, people are not safe in houses of worship.
The America I grew up in is history. I doubt we ever get it back.
When a Secretary of State testifies to the enormous threat to our constitution Trump was and all the illegal things he tried or considered to steal the 2020 election, but ends his testimony by saying he'd vote for Trump again, IT SPEAKS VOLUMES.

Sad day for women.
Sad day for our country.
