Hopefully the new car is not black with a black interior.

You are lucky to find that. 99% of the cars on the dealer lots here in Vermont have black interiors.

I've driven one, both the straight version and the hybrid. Liked both a lot.
I dont much care for the styling, but to drive they were very good.
Partner ended up getting a Yaris hybrid.
I'll probably get a RAV4 Hybrid when the time comes in a year or so. I need the towing ability.

My wife's RAV4 is the perfect tool for the job, but my '92 Miata makes me smile every time I drive it. Most cars today are automotive appliances.

A guy in the office next door has super-clean corolla (hatchback) with the stance dropped down just the littlest bit below stock. Still totally practical real world driveable height, but TIGHT. I do kinda drool a bit when I walk the dog past it.

Twisty asphalt in the AZ sun should melt those POS oem tires right off and get you into some good rubber sooner

He is and I'm glad. It's a fun, zippy little car that gets great mileage.

Query - you chose the manual for 'zip' or for fun? Both? curious how the experience compares with auto.
There's a lot of things they didn't tell me when I signed on with this outfit....

i wanted the manual but it was a customer car
what i got was an cvt
it has a mechanical first gear followed by cvt from there up
of course it has sport and manual shift modes and a hold in gear button on the shifter
i bought it as a purely economical utilitarian car but its surprisingly fun

Paul has a type. The actress who hypes Toyotas looks a lot like you.

Do dark tinted windows block the heat or absorb it?
Too bad they don't allow a reflective coating for auto glass, but a freeway in the glaring sun would be brutal to look at, like strobe lights.

I guess block and absorb. But it keeps the solar gain off the seats. Crack the windows and it’s not bad.
