Argo, a MOD70 trimaran, shatters earlier record.

Iíve taken that long to get from the Cape Cod Canal to mid coast Maine.

Be interesting to see divide the pre electronic records from the post electronics. Was maybe a decade or two ago that the committee permitted Loran etc. Race was conceived as a test and teaching experience for sailing offshore by amateurs. That's changed. Is it for the better?

I expect that the Gulf Stream and weather mappings are equally important.

There are still some older designs racing, so such a comparison would be possible.
The impact of multihulls and lifting foils is a whole Ďnuther story.

They have a no electronics section in the Marion Bermuda, surely that's enough/

The only time I sailed the Newport Bermuda, there were a bunch of multihulls at Goat Island,, having just completed the OSTAR.
    Neither fleet acknowledged the other.

    Fortunately, there are many classes.
A society predicated on the assumption that everyone in it should want to get rich is not well situated to become either ethical or imaginative.

I have heard a little bit about a fatality on the race, and no details. What happened?
