My experience for over 20 years is almost every vehicle easily lasts 200k miles these days with basic maintenance.

cars have gotten a lot better than they used to be. Even my Landy has 122,000 miles on it.. 30 years ago, it would have been worn out, rotted out, and nearly dead.

My 98 Dakota took 24 years to hit 200,000 and just passed it's last E-check.

BMW fan - have had 3. Sold my 1992 525i 5spd at 197,000 miles and saw it for at least 3 years in town (Sonoma, Ca). Had a 1998 328i sedan auto sold w/ 175,000 miles - loved that car - Rocket ship. Had a 1999 528i auto get totaled by someone pulling out of Whole Foods right into the passenger side - 167,000 miles in 2017. Looking for a replacement, was not enthralled with the BMW's available - I only buy used well maintained German cars - have had Audi also. Settled on a 2012 MBZ E350 Sport sedan, currently at 87k - quick as stink, very comfortable - have done 13 hours solo - and I am 75 - pricy to maintain compared to my BMW's.

My Renault has a bit over 350K km. Apart from brakes and tyres, the only failure was the starter motor. The brushes dissapeared into powder recently..so, used part fitted. Hope that hasn't jinxed it!!

My 1993 F-150 4WD had about 290,000 miles when it burned a hole in a piston. I had the engine rebuilt and still drive it although it doesn't get used much. It is mainly a spare or if I need the 4WD. I think my 2008 Tacoma passed 333,333 miles yesterday, but I forgot to watch that. I had to replace a water bypass tube, an ignition coil and spark plugs, and the brushes in the alternator last year. That is by far the most ever done to it except for Toyota replacing the driveshafts and u-joints and center bearing for free under recall.

A few years ago I parted with a CitroenC5 at 176,000 miles and at that point it was using no oil and had a sound body.I suspect it would have gone to 300,000 miles and I might be a bit better off today had I kept it.

Put on 424 miles on the 1996 GMC Sonoma last two months. Up to 52K miles. Have replaced the water pump and alternator. Still nice and shiny but it wants to be a Tacoma.

200,000 miles is a lot of years for most of us. My 2005 van has only 70,000 miles. When it has 200,000 miles, I think the tech in it will be to obsolete to be of value - a good reason for the car to not last 200,000 miles.

My first-gen Acura Legend coupe went 295,000 miles.

My Accord V-6 coupe went 250,000 miles.

I doubt that our Camry will reach 200K.... At least, for me. We put only 5,000 miles on it in its first year. So, that would mean 40 years to hit 200K. I doubt I'll still be driving at 114 years old. Somebody's bound to take my keys away by then.

Our '06 Honda Element is well over 200K and still going strong. 'Course, having said that....

My '08 Tacoma 4 cyl, 5 spd., 4 WD is going strong at 197,000. It needed a new clutch about 175K, and expensive repairs to the 4 WD electrical parts and the A/D, but the cost per mile to operate is still pretty low.

My 2000 Honda CR-V made it to 289,000. I think it had its original clutch; anyway I can't find an invoice for replacement. It needed a couple timing belt replacements over the years which were expensive. I tested the compression at 156K and it was 170 lbs in all 4 cylinders. That car would go almost anywhere the 4 WD Tacoma would go.

Then last summer it suddenly burst into flames.

My Astro Van is at 183k, but not the original engine. But it still has the original transmission which shifts like new. My first Miata went 213,000 and would have gone longer but it needed a diff and the body was getting pretty bad.

This Accord I own will probably go way over 200k.

2002 Chevy Silverado 2500 Duramax. 368,000+ last time the LED odometer worked. Some towns like Hartford ,WI salt instead of plowing snow to save the road surface.

My fiat Abarth only sees 1800 miles a year. It is a 2012 with 18,000 miles on it

When on the road for a job I drove a Mazda 626, the base model that they sold as a reps car, for 100k, then bought it off the company, we drove the wheels off that thing for another 100k, then gave it to our daughter, she drove it for another 50 then gave it to her brother who ended up totalling it at about 350 when he got tangled up in a multiple nose to tail.
It never had anything other than routine servicing, tyres and brakes.
Great cars, thats the 3 valve head 2 litre manual transmission version.
