Growing up in Cincinnati in the 70s, pretty much all the gay guys I knew were from the Deep South, and had bailed at the age of 18, heading north to the nearest big city. From the Pornhub map, it would seem there's a lot of guys in the Deep South that are still in the closet.

Lying Rudy is mad. Now that the prosecutors have seen the video, they've reduced the charges and released the fellow. I think a later dismissal is likely.

Yup, the video shows it all. Invading his space, but it was no assault

    Interestingly, Russell Brand recently did....

Fox News used to be a channel that we continually berated and baited when it was Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity. We used to torment them about their stances on numerous issues. But nowadays, if you want a channel that’s going to criticise big business, big tech, big corporations, and the mainstream media, you’re most likely to find that on Fox News….Why don’t we have a Leftist mainstream media outlet that would showcase a voice like Jimmy Dore’s? Why is that? What has become of the Left?
Not really sure what qualifies him to say that though

FOX is not truthful, but it's hard to complain about them and believe the court nominees were any more honest.

I'll ask here, as I did elsewhere, would you accept this much lying from your children?

I think if you look at their actual sworn testimony about how they might rule on various cases, you will see that they use the same evasive words that every nominee has used since RBG. No nominee has said how they might rule on a potential case in decades.

One recent example was the R's whining about SCOTUS justice Kavenaugh going out to dinner and abortion protesters demonstrating outside. The R's presented it as egregious. It wasn't. It was anything but. Mayor Pete responded --

“Your husband tweeted after Justice Brett Kavanaugh left a Washington restaurant due to protesters,” the Fox host told Buttigieg. “Is that appropriate, sir?”

“Politics, regardless of your side or views, should not trample the freedom at play of the right to congregate and eat dinner. There is a time and place for everything. Disturbing the dinner of all of our customers was an act of selfishness and void of decency.”

    -----------------------------

    The response --

“Look, when public officials go into public life, we should expect two things. One, you should always be free from violence, harassment, and intimidation. And two, you’re never going to be free from criticism or peaceful protests, people exercising their First Amendment rights,” Buttigieg said. “That’s what happened in this case.”

“Remember, the justice never even came into contact with these protesters they reportedly didn’t see or hear them. And these protesters are upset, because a right, an important right, that the majority of Americans support was taken away, not only the right to choose, by the way, but this justice was part of the process of stripping away the right to privacy.”

Florida newspaper runs a weird opinion piece defending the Proud Boys. And neglects to mention that the author is married to one. A retraction follows. Executive editor prints a mea culpa. And yet, the propaganda managed to get into the paper. Nothing in her statement about the responsible person being fired/disciplines. Lies, lies, and more lies --

Florida Paper Retracts Column Defending Proud Boys After Omitting Key Detail

In a message to readers from executive editor Jennifer Orsi on Monday, the paper admitted that the guest column did not meet its editorial standards despite running Sunday in print and online.

The opinion page should not “provide a forum for support of the Proud Boys, an extremist group that promotes white nationalist views and which has been labeled a terrorist group by two countries and has top members under indictment on charges of seditious conspiracy in the Jan. 6 Capitol attack,” Orsi wrote.

“To do so is antithetical to our values as an organization and is outside of our responsibility to provide a fair forum for different points of view,” she continued.

Pile and bbbbys demonstrate the point John makes. Facts have been irrelevant to them for years and when pressed for them, they cannot provide them. What's worse is that they have no interest in doing so or responding honestly to honest questions. They loved the insurrection and will not be swayed by reality.

The committee is doing what it can.

Oath of office for any elected official NEEDS to include telling the truth, just as one would swear in to be a witness, and to cooperate with any and all congressional committees. Period.

Fox, for example, should have to take "NEWS" out of their name, or be required to get matters of fact correct.

AP FACT CHECK: GOP skews budget bill’s impact on IRS, taxes

Republican politicians and candidates are distorting how a major economic bill passed over the weekend by the Senate would reform the IRS and affect taxes for the middle class.

The “ Inflation Reduction Act,” which awaits a House vote after passing in the Senate on Sunday, would increase the ranks of the IRS, but it would not create a mob of armed auditors looking to harass middle-class taxpayers, as some Republicans are claiming.

David Brooks is an elegant writer. And 100% wrong, though during the Time of TFG he seemed to have come to his senses.

But now, he's reverting to form.
