I think that you give him too much credit.
He was able to pay lawyers to play the system for him.
But his initial actions were those of an immature person acting out some fantasy with a lethal weapon. He no more planned the outcome than his victims planned to get shot.
However, at his age he was responsible for his actions, and so is guilty of manslaughter at least by the UK Law codes.

This is the key which those who support him continue to overlook. His situation is the direct result of his poor judgement in many of the decisions that he made. He shouldn't be held in any esteem by anyone.
He keeps lying about future college plans and the colleges keep going, "What?"

He definitely had poor judgement and made some very poor decisions. He could just as easily have been convicted and would have deserved whatever legal consequences came along. I don't defend him, but neither am I going to grab a rope and string him up from the biggest limb. I agree with David G (possibly for the first time) - I hope he learns from what he did and how is actions affected others and changes the quality his character. Honestly I don't know if he ever will, but I wont wish painful death on him for it.

Just say you’ve never shared any time in an American prison where the “left Hand” ( The Informer you meet when you are fresh in GenPop that tells you the “politics” of the cell block you are housed in) The “WoodPile” / White Supremacist faction of any prison basically explains and shows you the proper “OK / WP” hand gesture when meeting another “WHITE” prisoner.
Oh excuse me if you’ve never encountered this in real life, but yea take an out of context photo of Biden maybe making an OK gesture, maybe counting , maybe …… yea you know, juuuuuuust add a slight but of doubt and slink away. Next time just get arrested and see how you fair giving an “OK” sign to prisoner of color without any Woodpile backup, I think you might rethink your understanding of that hand gesture![]()

thanks Paul. The Wisconsin tavern league is probably more powerful than the NRA. Yes, you can drink in a bar at 18 if a parent is with you. You can’t drink at 18 in your home if a parent is with you. Go figure.
anyway, Rittenhouse is likely to end up much like Zimmerman—one run in with the law after another. It’s my hope, in the near future, he pulls a gun on the right person and ends this national embarrassment.

Good. It's about time.
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime...f5afb293b97ee1Federal judge greenlights lawsuit against Kyle Rittenhouse
Kyle Rittenhouse, a Wisconsin man who skyrocketed to fame in right-wing circles after shooting and killing two protesters during a social rights march in 2020, is now facing a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the victim's father, according to PBS.
The lawsuit was filed by John Huber, the father of one of the two victims, and also includes city officials and police officers. U.S. District Judge Lynn Adelman dismissed motions from the city officials, police officers and Rittenhouse to dismiss the civil rights case in its entirety.
Huber's lawsuit states that Rittenhouse conspired with police officers to intentionally cause harm to the protesters who were marching in reaction to the death of Jacob Blake, killed by a Wisconsin police officer.
Rittenhouse, an Illinois resident, drove to the demonstrations in Wisconsin and was a minor at age 17 at the time.
In the ruling, Adelman said Huber's death "could plausibly be regarded as having been caused by the actions of the government defendants. Huber was killed after Rittenhouse was running after he shot and killed his first victim in the parking lot of a car dealership and, Huber hit Rittenhouse with a skateboard to disarm him. After falling to the ground, Rittenhouse fatally shot Huber and wounded another protester Gaige Grosskreutz, who also has filed a civil lawsuit against Rittenhouse.
Huber's lawyers and private investigators needed over 100 hours to locate Rittenhouse to serve him with the civil lawsuit paperwork, eventually serving him at his sister's house. Rittenhouse's lawyers tried to argue the case should be dismissed because he was not properly served. The judge dismissed that claim.
Rittenhouse has become a popular Republican right-wing speaker at public events and has nearly 1 million followers on Twitter.

Oh now he’s an “influencer”.
He is going to be looking over his shoulder for a long, long time. The rest of his life and I predict that he will come to an untimely end.
Maybe sooner than later it may be from long term effects of stress from watching his back, or it may be suicide as he comes to terms with what he did.
Karma, go sic-um.

sounds like a MASSIVE stretch. hope they get counter sued into the poor house.
apparently there was some contact between police and rittenhouse before the shootings. so, the police were aware that rittenhouse was openly carrying a rifle, intending to "protect" property against rioters.
and later, cops drove by rittenhouse after he had shot and killed one person. did not even stop to question him, let alone disarm him.
regardless of open carry law, if police knew that shots had been fired, and they did not stop a guy openly carrying a rifle, (because with previous contact they figured him to be on the "right side" of the conflict?) then the notion of conspiracy holds water.
So - all lawyers are bad? I gotta call BS. I have friends who are attorneys & all are smart, caring, ethical people who do the work they do to help others - and make a good living of course. My stepdaughter is an attorney. Her specialty is fighting insurance fraud - mostly medical. In one non-medical case, a man who ran into the back of a state dump truck on the highway sued the state for not marking it correctly (no cones, signs, etc.). When the case went to court, she had pictures of the dump truck with flashing strobe lights all over the back &, most damning, pictures of the wrecker driver removing 16 orange cones from the grille & under the car. Should the state have paid the 5 million he was looking for? Don't get me started on the "doctors" padding medicare/medicaid/insurance bills with 100's of thousands in bogus bills.
Are there attorneys who are unethical? Hell yeah - just like any profession - but please do not say all are - it's just not true.

Considering that the standards in a wrongful death lawsuit will be different than those from Rittenhouse's criminal trial, it is likely that the lower bar (pun not totally intended) will be easier to meet.

the jury in the criminal trial was openly tampered with by the judge.
they should have named the judge in the conspiracy suit as well.

well, this is not a court of law, no standard of evidence (no access either) so i will tell.
they talked to each other, because they would.
every cop out there that night knew that there were armed vigilantes on the street. there is no effing way that the cops who talked to rittenhouse and compatriots did not report to fellow officers the existence of armed men guarding a car dealership. period.
That young man should be in jail. That he is not is testimony to the deplorable state of the US legal system.
A civil case that leaves him unable to afford bodyguards will have to do. He will still get bodyguards of course until Fox News and their gang get bored with him.
IMAGINES VEL NON FUERINT
the city is also named in the lawsuit. they will be paying out millions.
the city cops that night considered 17 y.o. rittenhouse an ally in their fight against rioters.
wouldn't we like a transcript from the initial contact between police and rittenhouse et al.
