She is in Mystic. She has been stirring this spring, though I don't know what's going to become of her. As far as I know she has been re-launched.

Just getting back to everybody I missed, you're up! I got all the dope on you from Pless. I'll be getting in late Friday I think, along with Cris. The plans are looking grim and include night driving after hundreds of miles long distance driving and then more driving in traffic which I assume you are familiar with. But then I think it's sort of loose and fancy free so hoping to see you and the gang anon. What a world! What a world! I'm melting.
One of the most enduring qualities of an old wooden boat is the smell it imparts to your clothing.
Nobody can make it back there. Nobody. They have child seat anchors and I hear some people put babies in the back if they can source the right car seat. Not Cris' style!
I assume we'll be seeing each other? Lobsters. They are a major motivation but it would be nice to see you again too.

Lew - will likely be seeing you and the rest of this motley crew there at the show. Not certain what my schedule is yet, but we'll see.
Another nice addition in Mystic is the Jealous Monk which is up closer to the highway from the Seaport - in the plaza on the left as you're heading towards the aquarium. It's not Abbotts, but worth a stop.

The only way I can do this on my own to make it is to take off a weeks work and ride the bike. It may be too much. The car gets 25 mpg, the bike near 52.

Then 3 or 4 days to wonder around and arrive on Thursday in Mystic. And leave the bike in Westchester for a few weeks.

Without friends none of this is possible.

Simpler is better, except when complicated looks really cool.

I thought I was with the barn storming, stealth camping, traveling with a backpack. the cost of the airline ticket to Mystic (NYC) now is 1200 round trip plus local transportation train/bus. MC will be 650, the car 1300.

I can get Lee pretty close if he wants to ride with me. I would have to figure out what to do with him once we get to about 50 miles from the ultimate destination. I'm sure we could figure out something from there to get him to the final LZ. But until then he can ride in relative comfort in the front seat. Free ride, Lee. What do you say?

Is it just me, but every time I see 'Me 2022', I think of a Messerschmitt...
Could just be a Fokker.....

I was all ready to give you a pick up time but I just googled "Nebraska" and it looks like a place I may never get to, ever. Remind me again what's there aside from you?

'Nebraska - it's not for everyone'.
It's actually a nice place to live, but way down the list in terms of tourism. But it's awful damn 'red', not so much as other places, but damn! Irritating.
No worries - I wouldn't swing by, either!
But I do intend to attend - vicariously. Enjoy!

Damn it... I'm working the exact days the show is being held.
“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.”― Mark Twain,
We were in Nebraska in July 2019 to pick up the Oregon Trail, which we then followed west. I liked that corner of Nebraska. It took us about two days to move from Scott's Bluff to South Pass. In 1865, it took my ancestors a month to cover the same ground in their wagon
