We have had a Black+Decker cordless mower for several years now. Lead/Acid, not any fancy LiFePO4 batteries. It's been bullet proof. We sort of share it with out neighbor and it's been more than capable of handling several city-size lots at a single go.
We have two batteries, so even if it runs out, there's another ready to rock-n-roll.
Need to oil it now and again. And [I really ought to do this] probably check the brushes on the motor and see if they need replacing.

Those already exist: we call them sheep

Until last Christmas one of the things I did to earn a dollar was fix power tools, and after a few attempts, and a very close look, literally through a microscope in some areas I flatly refused to work on Ryobi, they're about as good as the cheapos from harbour Fright or Tractor Supply.
That's my experience with Ryobi. Cheap stuff. Seem to remember a lot of their power tools — drill, routers and the like — have plastic gears.
