The boat is already a victim...

The original poster has a good eye

I have seen it many times before. The original poster has evidently amended his mention of the $100 offer.
Fair enough, My woodworking skills are quite good actually,I research well and learn pretty quickly, and I can be very resourceful regarding acquiring good materials etc.

I wasn't making a $100 offer on the boat. That's how much it would cost just for me to go see it (ferry gas etc. and the entire day)

I just wanted to have an understanding with the seller regarding price range/expectations, prior to making the investment in time and $$ just to see it.

if I do get the boat and after a while find that I am in over my head I will happily eat crow and post it here first and just hope to recoup some of my $$ investment if possible

If I decide not to get it I will share the info here if the owner agrees

    Thanks.
Sounds promising. Please keep us posted should you go through with it. Will you be starting a repair thread if that happens?

I hope for the boat's sake you and the current owner come to an agreement you can work with. A thread about restoring an old lapstrake boat would be a sweet thing to see here on the forum too.

With the help of the link supplied by PC Ford I was able to track down the owner of 'Golden Eye which was #1 of the tent sailors built by Greg Foster. I am looking at #2 'Loon' , Greg named them all which I think is cool idea.
Whilst I didn't get to meet her I did get to briefly see her boat. Hopefully she will send me more comprehensive pictures. Just from that brief look at Goldeneye and a comment another fellow made I am now aware of a lot of pieces that are missing from Loon. Knees! The other half of the mast 'partners which has the pinrail. Also a lot of the original hardware. If she sends me pictures and agrees, I will post them here for perusal.
