That's remarkable, a lot of knowledge and skill went into that, great understanding of sea and sailing.
Reminds me of the great illustrator artists like Megoran.
Does look Giles as Peter says, you could search up his portfolio to see if one of his motor sailer/cruisers fit, at a guesstimate..38ft. I can't quite talk myself into 36 , but maybe.
Jack Laurent Giles would be the search name.
Edit, that is a particularly pretty sheer.... of course if there's an American link then it's down the Rhodes, Alden, Garden rabbit hole. What does Kayak look like (per Terry)

I have the Giles book open.

    Not a Salar 40.

Looks familiar, but can’t find in the Giles book.

Nor a Walter Rayner Atlantic 38 either.

Note she doesn’t actually have a wheelhouse, unlike those two.

Not a Warrington Smyth 9 ton Falmouth Pilot.

Couid be a Jack Jones? Certainly not an Inchcape, though.

Has a very S&S look to me. They designed several motor sailors on that line:

I agree with John B - artist really captured that moment when the boat has stopped accelerating/surfing down a wave and is just starting to drop a little speed as the forward part the hull settles into the wave and the boat's weight is cushioned and supported as it waits for the next push and downhill ride. The bow wave has returned from midships back to the bow. An afternoon of sailing like that would make the watch seem very short.

The structure they are standing behind looks a little strange to me - like an open flybridge from a Sportsfisherman. Maybe very functional...

Alan Buchanan designed several boats with a similar aesthetic. I don't recognise the boat pictured, but it certainly could be one of his.

Alan Buchanan ketch motorsailer Neptune 33!

The one in the painting has had it's glass windshield removed. The Neptunian's had a bigger wheelhouse. Most Neptune's weren't ketches it seems looking at what's for sale but some were, like the one above.

The yacht in the painting appears to be a generic rendition Rhodes like screens with the curved cabin side coaming but the round ports appear out of place and as JB says Giles kind of but maybe the artists name could be a good start.
She most certainly is not 33ft.
    Nicely executed painting though.
