Hello. I’m in the north shore of Long Island. Anyone know of someone who can paint my boat’s name properly?

....properly ?
I use painted wooden or composite letters, screwed on.
When I bought the boat she had plastic letters that looked good. When I changed the name I switched to plywood and sprayed them. When those needed replacement, I used the same supplier (Woodland Manufacturing) to supply prepainted letters. Mine are gold to simulate old style brass letters. When I painted my own, one of the paints I used was brass filings in lacquer. It looked like metal and tarnished over time. You might find a sign maker to do a nameboard for you. Good luck, keep us posted.
As said, a sign shop will have a staffer or contractor who can hand paint. Call around.
However, if it is gold leaf that you are talking about, that may require someone with rarer skills.

There are two kinds of boaters: those who have run aground, and those who lie about it.
