Default Where to find F. Spaulding Dunbar Sailboat designs at?

    Folks,
I just found the magic of F. Spaulding Dunbar shoal draft sailboat designs! I was shocked, why had I not seen these before....? And then I realized, they were in issue 161 back in 2001 and I was going through a tough divorce at the time so I never saw that issue.
Anyway, the article in #161 gave a contact of his son, Bart, for purchase of plans. I emailed him and got a bounce back that the email was no longer in use.
Does anyone have any ideas about where I can find the plans to some of his bigger designs? I'm looking at in the range of 38 to 55 LOA.
Thanks in advance for any leads!

The Mystic Seaport plans department shows they have plans for two of Spaulding's designs, a ketch Sea Goose and a sloop, Franarl. Here is the page showing this: http://mobius.mysticseaport.org/resu...eyword&x=0&y=0 There is no other information, so you would have to contact Ships Plans at Mystic and find other details.
Also, I sent you a private message.

Sir, thank you for the leads. I have sent a message to Mystic about the Sea Goose plans, so we will see what happens there.

I believe there were two of his designs featured in “Boat Design Quarterly.” One was a small runabout, a 13-footer. The other was a 23’ sailboat. Sounds like you’re looking for something bigger. If you’re interested the sailboat was in BDQ #23, available here- https://www.woodenboatstore.com/prod...vol-23-digital

John O'Donovan was one of the people who restored OCEAN PEARL, Dunbar's largest motorsailer ketch (62'). He works at Northport Marine Services, Northport, Maine (no website)(207) 338-0077 The Woodenboat Face Book page mentions that he provided plans or at least the image of OCEAN PEARL for the magazine article. He may know of other sources for Dunbar's smaller designs. Patrick Dole was his partner and may be reached here also: https://www.pa-dole.com/about

The last bit of news I had about OCEAN PEARL was this:

"John O'Donovan worked with Patrick Dole rehabbing OCEAN PEARL and they did a wonderful job. Sadly, the boat was caught alongside a seawall in the Med when a mistral breached the breakwater and she was smashed to kindling. Sad, very sad."

I too have been enamored but Spaulding's work. I like his own Chesapeake deadrise cruising boat and would like to see plans for his DaySailer, if I remember correctly it can be rigged either as a sloop or a cat. Bellow is what I could dig up for Bart. If you are not on LinkedIn I can try him there.

You could also try contact who is now working in the boatyard Spaulding started. First Light Boatworks.
