Around here, discarded Christmas trees are donated to be dug into the the dunes, by volunteer groups, led by the town, to help stabilize the dunes and inhibit erosion.

Participating in one such event, my friend, Tabby, pulled one of the donated evergreens from the pile for an alternate use, decorating it with what was at hand.

The view is from Urapukapuka island to Waewaetoria island in the BOI, JP.
Just left there, maybe 3 m swells crossing the Bay to the Kerikeri inlet side, little wind.
A small cyclone off Fiji coming down here, maybe.
The Cavallis are 20 miles North, haven't got there this cruise yet.

John B, back in 1963 when I was working for A.E,F I took a large party of people from Te Rawhiti in to there so they could lift the tapu put on that tide stream when two youhg blokes drowned picking sea eggs. (kina) It was quite a day, believe me. and the Owaka and I were both blessed.

one of my complaints about vinyl siding; it can’t keep your house from collapsing.

nothing like real wood siding and fascia to preserve the illusion of structural integrity.
