    Question Chess

What is the most powerful piece on the chess board?

I say a lady wearing a T-shirt stating that the black queen was the most powerful.

While I would go along with a queen being the most powerful, doesnít the white queen have the edge, seeing that the white pieces play first?

    Your view?

The Queen can only move after other pieces on both sides have have moved, so depending on the what the players move first, either can be the most powerful.
    Just an amateur bodging away..

So, where are you going with this? Who posts a chess thread having no interest in the game? Were you triggered by a tee shirt?

The world championships are being played. I watch a commentary after the games. Comments run along the line of being down one piece (not a pawn) leads to a loss. Leading me to believe that every piece is of equal importance.

Of course, a pawn advanced to the 7th rank is very important. Unless something else is more important.
    Life is complex.

clearly you have the gist of it
Simpler is better, except when complicated looks really cool.

I opened this thread thinking there’s no way rummy could be posting racist homophobic crap like usual and what do I find? It’s about black queens!

It is your mind, not mine, that has pre-empted and twisted it to think it is be about racist homophobic and apparently being about 'black queens'.

    How sad.

Either king can finish the game at any time.
It won't be "winning", but the King is the only piece with that power.

I used to play. Don't think I have the attention span now.
