A friend sold this nearly 30 years ago to someone near Hampton Bays NY. He was wondering if any of the forumites near Shinnecock Bay may have seen this boat around anywhere. It was in pretty fair shape and should still be sailing condition.

Is it an SS, Roger? ( looks it to me, but I am hardly an expert)

I can ask Fred Scopinich. He cares for much of that fleet.

EDIT: Name of boat or sail number?

There are two kinds of boaters: those who have run aground, and those who lie about it.

It's a bit bigger than an SS. He doesn't remember it's dimensions but I'd guess about 18'-20'.

I'm pretty sure there is one in Mount Sinai Harbor.

That's a marconi rigged one. It also happens to be in my backyard right now. The one in the photo is an earlier boat. Probably 1920's. Some of his earlier boats were quite nice, this one has the sprung deck and round coaming. His later boats were generally a bit more utilitarian. Straight laid decks and rectangular cockpits or cabins. The one that had been in Mt. Sinai is purportedly built in 1937.

I talked to the couple in Mount Sinai one day while they were underway.
