Default 17' Norwegian Pram on Bellingham Craigslist

Calling Ben Sebens. The kids aren't all going to fit into a 14' Whitehall forever. Plus this one has a sail...

It's probably a good thing that I'm downsizing shops right now. I love everything about this boat but I already have a big row boat. Two, actually. And I can only row one at a time as it is.

I do like the long nose on the Norwegian pram.
It really is quite difficult to build an ugly wooden boat.

Its pretty. but.... boomless sprits'l? No way.

Plus, I have a Navigator that I could get finished with that same $2k. (ok lets all have a laugh about actually finishing a boat project)
There's the plan, then there's what actually happens.

Yeah, I figured that you would bring up the Navigator. A worthy project, but you have to ask yourself if you would rather be sailing with the kids now, or by yourself after they leave home? And then of course I ask myself that same question and I start to think that maybe I should be driving up to Bellingham this weekend...

If nothing else, this thread got me to buy the plans for an 11' 9" version from our hosts.

Why? It is a Norwegian pram. The Norwegians managed fine without booms.

Please someone go buy it! It's too good and too cheap. Fortunately it's way too far away from me.

Yeah, me too. Lovely boat, but I already have a very nice pulling boat of about the same size that needs refinishing. I should be doing that, not buying more row boats. And if I was going to buy a sailboat I would get something like this White Cap...

People really need to stop selling wooden boats near me.

The worst part is, I’m actually contemplating a boat that size to upgrade the pink skiff... sigh.

Prams are mot that hard to build, little twist in the planks.

Itís not the difficulty of building a new boat. Itís the time, and the money.

No way could you turn out this pram, rigged, on a trailer for 2Gs.
