Parody has become impossible. I'm very glad I don't have to write for The Onion.

Got the jab back in April. So far no dimensional changes. Guess I’ll need to go to Trinidad for the booster.

OTOH, Nicki Minaj can perhaps be excused for medical ignorance.

A Tucker Carlson on air correction:

“Nicki Minaj’s cousin’s testicles are not swollen, as far as we know, he’s fine,” said Carlson. “It’s Nicki Minaj’s cousin’s friend’s testicles who are swollen from taking the vax. That’s the claim.”

I'm old. I have a growing list of pop culture icons (can I call her that?) for whom I ask, "Why?"

There is nothing there other than a half-dressed singer with formulaic songs.

The saddest part: CBS reports that Niki has 150 million followers. If only 1% of them are now failing to get vaccinated, that’s a lot of deaths.

Son-in-law was in hospital a few weeks ago for a back issue, stayed overnight, and the guy in the next bed, when asked by sil why he was there, said "look at this/these!"

    ...Ouch.

.Bed-neighbour had been vaxxed with Pfizer two weeks previously.

Okay, you got me. I'll tell you what I really think. I think the greater the degree of undress that an actress or singer feels compelled to show in order to get media attention, the less her talent is. And, yes, that definitely includes Madonna.

As for rap, my appreciation begins and ends with "Baby Got Back" and those raps that The Tonight Show created by cutting and pasting Brian Williams' news segments. It's an inferior and highly transient art form. And, yes, I'm an old fart and I have no problem with that at all because I've lived long enough to know what is good and what is cr@p.

Perhaps I could get onboard with the protest if I could stand to listen to the music for more than ten seconds at a time

you think it's going to stand the test of time? The 60's social protest music struck me as a great deal more powerful, since it didn't self-select it's audience. Us old folks are far less likely to be exposed to 'social protest rap', than the old farts of the 60's, who were well exposed to Phil Ochs, Bob Dylan, Tom Rush, Joan Baez, etc.
"Reason and facts are sacrificed to opinion and myth. Demonstrable falsehoods are circulated and recycled as fact. Narrow minded opinion refuses to be subjected to thought and analysis. Too many now subject events to a prefabricated set of interpretations, usually provided by a biased media source. The myth is more comfortable than the often difficult search for truth."

It already has, easily surpassing many other genres in longevity.

Rapper's Delite by Sugarhill Gang is widely-regarded as the first rap song. 1979. Rap songs are still being written and recorded today.

Name a current Top 40 song that in any way resembles, We Shall Overcome, Blowing In The Wind or For What Its Worth?

Accepting that “Rocket 88” ushered in rock-n-roll, it’s safe to say that rap has been around for over 2/3rds of that time. So yeah, I’d say it’s gonna stick way better than Coldplay.
